@amiablebunny4016' Anti-Bullying Campaign
Hi everyone,
You may know me from @amiablebunny4016's corner/diary entries post or you may have seen me in group chats. Or this is the first time you ever met me.
First let me introduce myself: You can call me Bunny/Violet/bun bun on 7cups (if you have any other nicknames created for me let me know and I will add to list). I am 13 years old from the UK. I have a big passion to create an anti-bullying campaign because of my personal experiences. I have been bullied for over 6 years and I am tired now. So if the voices of my generation wont be heard. If bullying wont be taken seriously in schools from now on.... I am starting a campaign. Together we can stop bullying and hatred. Together.
**IMPORTANT NOTICE** This thread is for topics related to Bullying/Discrimination. Please try to avoid bringing other issues into this thread. I AM NOT SAYING YOUR ISSUES ARE NOT IMPORTANT. THEY ARE EQUALLY AS IMPORTANT. However, this campaign is for Bullying. I would appreciate if you respect that. Thank you.
According to the most recent National Center for Educational Statistics, more than 20% of students report being bullied. Report being the important word there. Only 36% of bullying victims actually report it, so that number is likely significantly higher.
Everyday, more and more children are keeping quiet from this. Often avoiding going to school. More and more adults are being bullied at work. Bullying isn't just something small. Words can shatter and scar us.
This is a global community so I am trying to connect the world together so we can stand against bullying.
Here is some information from Anti-Bullying Alliance. These are a group of people from the UK who are working together to eradicate bullying:
In 2017 Public Health England released research from a 2014 consultation with 5,335 young people aged 11-15 years old. They found:
- 17.9% of 11-15 year olds reported being bullied online in the two months prior to being surveyed
- girls were twice as likely as boys to report being bullied online
- online bullying increased with age for both boys and girls; the reported prevalence rates of cyberbullying at age 15 were almost double those for 11 year olds
- online bullying is associated with socio-economic status. Young people from more affluent families were more likely to report being victims of online bullying
- young people who reported positive family communication, especially with a father, were less likely to experience online bullying
- positive perceptions of the school environment were associated with lower levels of online bullying
- online bullying was associated with feelings of safety in young people’s local neighbourhood
I am starting an Anti-Bullying Campaign from now on here.
From now on, I am not afraid anymore. I will stand up against this.
Bunny
@amiableBunny4016 really proud of you for raising your voice and creating space for others to seek support too 💕
@Optimisticempath,
Thank you so much for your very kind message. It means so much to me
@amiableBunny4016
Hello,
Trigger warning.
Hope you all doing well. I wanted to create a post today. Something has sparked inside of me that I wanted to share. So.... just to start off I am gonna start with this
"In a world where you can be anything. Be kind"
Bullying is more than just a joke or banter. It's not a joke. It hurts. Words hurt. And just because someone's life feels broken or they are not happy with themself doesn't give them an excuse to hurt anyone else.
I know what bullies are like. And you know what? I AM TIRED. WE ARE TIRED. I'M SICK OF BEING A VICTIM OF ALL THEIR FUN. Stepping on other people just. to make yourself look big means nothing. NOTHING.
And you know what... these people. Their life is broken. I am not trying to be mean here. It's the truth. They hate themselves. So they go to school and pick on the kids that don't talk like them or aren't like them because they need the last of everyone. They think it's funny until someone loses their life.
Listen. I don't do all this for fun or for showing off. I live and *** on these things.
I know......
its normal. Its normal to wanna feel big and popular. Its normal to wanna feel like your respected. But the truth is.... Bullying isn't the answer.
Bullying is never the answer.
There was once a quote, it said:
"There is a story behind every person. There is a reason why they are the way they are. Think about that and respect them for who they are"
If your gonna pick on someone just because of their race, gender, personality.... or anything. Well don't. Its not worth being a bully. Stand up. Stand up against it.
Soon enough... I will share my story here.
Bunny
Words hurt.
Words cut deep.
Deeper than you thought.
They can ruin us forever.
They can hurt.
So before you say anything.....
Think.
Is it kind?
is it gonna help?
And if you don't have anything good to say then don't say it.
I know they say:
"sticks and stones can break our bones but words can never break us"
its not true. Its wrong.
Words hurt okay.
It can destroy someone.
Words hurt.
@amiableBunny4016Let's get this party started.
TW: bullying ofc, sexual harassment, racism, a slight bit of religion discrimination, discussion of police, and racism. Slurs are mentioned but blurred out, still triggering tho. Talk of a school lock down . Brief mention of a suicide
It's really important to me that I share my story. I want People to hear it and be able to learn and see it can get better. This was a really hard post to right and I had to pull myself away multiple time. I do not use anyone's real name, I use letters for safety.
Growing up in an agnostic household, I didn't go to church. These 2 girls, A and G we shall call them, bullied me for not knowing what CCD was in kindergarten. I was once invited over to Gs house and she made fun of me for not having as many toys as she did. Now because this was in kindergarten I don't remember it super well, but G bullied me all the way till I moved. For not having social media, for not having a phone, for not having the coolest clothes, for being the geeky weird kid. You name it, she picked on me for it. Now A she gets real important later on so remember her.
3rd grade I had a friend, J. J was having a tough time and I was going through alot and we held each other up. I remember one time, he had just had a really bad thing happen ( I forget what specifically) and I gave him a hug being the person I am. This girl N, spit on me, called me a uh wh*** and got me an basically a in recess detention. I tried to be her friend. I invited her to my birthday parties for a few years, sat with her at lunch, did the best I could. She quickly became controlling and when I didn't do exactly what she wanted me too she got either verbally and physically abusive. I told the teacher and she didn't do a damn thing. She said she didn't have any "evidence". It was real bad. The principle wouldn't do nothing. I stopped talking about it because everyone made me feel almost crazy. I was happening I promised and no one listened, but my mom. In 5th grade we were put in separate classes. She moved away. Nothing changed nothing happened.
Part 2 in the replies to this, i had an issue with a longer post
@Jefferythebunny319
Now the start of 5th grade. The very first day. I see a new kid, I say hi, yk being nice. He puts me down about playing clarinet told me he'd be the best in the school so stop trying. I still held my spot at best for the rest of the year just saying. I should have seen it coming. Yk that's a big red flag. He was annoying and rude but kids be like that. I let it roll of my back. He'd make horrible comments during cyber bullyimg stuff and just said not okay things. Picking on my Halloween costume, being mad when I did the best in class usual crap like that. I was used to it. T we will call him, was just like everyone bully I had ever had. Everything went down hill in about December. It was the day before break and we had stem class. The challenge was to build whatever we wanted with Lego. I made a puppy I believe it was supposed to be anyway. T decided to build uh reproduction. And he said something horrible about him and another person. I of course told the substitute teacher and she didn't know what to do. This kid looked at me and said "it's only cause the d*** was black. If it was white, you would have been begging to s*** it". I was in 5th grade mind you. My friend D was there and kindly told this kid to go away. And D told the teacher. T walked outta class and it took them an hour to find him. A few months later, sane substitute I just now realized, was watching us during a lock down, and she got confused about when it was safe to come out. We sat there for awhile and after about 15 minutes my friend started to cry and have a panic attack.I quietly rubbed her back and said hey its okay I'll protect you, fully ready to shield her if needed. T yelled to the entire class that we were 'all gonna dye and it's going to be my fault'. D, he's very important here and writing this all down makes me so much more greatful then I ever was then, told this kid to shut his mouth and I believe he punched him because I remember a fight. These were the 2 main issues but there were many many little ones. I would recount them all but my brain has blocked them out slightly. We had an assembly about a local girl who was bullied into committing sui and T said she desevred it and I should follow in her foot steps. I remember I once came out of the locker room and T made a huge deal about me being too ugly for the girls locker room but I'd get to uh yk in the boys locker room so they should just throw me in a closet somewhere. And then he turned to his friend and whispered about locking the door. His friend is the one who spit on me for being smart and reading books anyway..... I went to the teacher. She did not a thing. I went to theprinciple. She had the guts to tell me and my mother that T was saying the same things about me and she didn't know who to believe. So my mom went to the police. It had gone to far.
Part 3 to follow still too long I'm sorry.
@Jefferythebunny319They ended up doing a state conducted investigation. D had to give a testimony to the police, I wasn't able to being directly involved. Remember A from earlier. She also gave a testimony on my behalf. D was directly related because he had been previously called the 'n' word multiple times by T. A had nothing to do with it. She didn't have to say anything but she did. She told tue police about how much abuse from him she had seen and how, her exact words not mine( I remember cause she wasn't supposed to tell me anything but she did a bit) "the school will do nothing because he is a black student and *my name* is a smart higher privileged white student". Thus was the first time she had actually been nice to me I was really shocked. Me and T were separated, but being in the same class, I had a class aide walk around wuth me all the time like in the halls and sit by me in class. Other kids saw me as a target, for speaking up, everyone turned against me for attack the "black" kid. I assure you race had nothing to do with it.
Part 4 to follorw.... I didn't realize how long this actually was.
I assure you race had nothing to do with it. I see all people equally.
T now has a record as a threat with the state police and state school system.
Speak out. Speak up. I wasn't the only kid T harrased. After I left he tried to break into the girls locker room to attack A. The gym teacher knew he was a threat and held him back. All because of me. Your story isimportant. Even though I couldn't stop myself from being hurt, I helped A. And I am here to help all of you. If you EVER need any help, please I will help you through all of it. Your voice matters <3
Hi @Jefferythebunny319,
Avyyyy...... thank you so much for posting. I see there is a part 4 coming up but I also don't want to leave you there because i wanna send a message to you...
Im so sorry you had to go through all that. You never deserved it. You probably heard this from me but i wanna tell you again:
no one can define you. only you can define yourself. you can choose who you want to be.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience. You are such a valuable member of 7cups.
Your such a kind and loving person.
I am sorry if this doesn't help. But whatever they did to you never defines you or makes you smaller okay? they are just reflecting themselves.
This just shows how bullying can escalate and you show such resilience by telling someone about it.
What a brave, kind, caring person you really are.
*hugs and cookies for you if okay*
Bullying is never okay. Speak out. Reach out.

Bunny
@amiableBunny4016 thank you so much for your kind words. I've never actually opened up about it before so thank you. Thank you more than I can ever express.
@Jefferythebunny319,

Be kind. be happy. stay safe.
I'm having a brief technical issues but part 4 should be there. It starts with "I assure you" and yes seriously. Please speak up. 🙏
Hi Hi everyone,

Hey ,
Sorry for not posting . Lots have been going on lately including reading a heartbreaking email from school who probably blame me for being the victim. I will be back soon. I promise.
Bunny
Hellooo wonderful person,
I am back with another post. I am so sorry I have been off for so long :) Lots of things going on in life.
However, due to these delays I have been playing my own part by growing my Anti-Bullying campaign in school (I am miserably failing but I will keep trying).
The rapid numbers of Bullying cases are increasing. And it doesnt matter who you are. Where you are. What you are. We are all different. And thats okay. No one has the right to judge you or treat you unfairly. You are you. Dont let anyone define you or make you feel smaller. They are using you as a mirror. They are reflecting themselves.
Bullying is never acceptable.
Social media has blinded our generation. Almost everything we do is digital. And we tend to think everything is okay in the digital/social world. But there is alot of bullying going on. Cyber bullying is never okay. If your being cyber-bullied please reach out. You dont deserve this. Here are some heartbreaking facts and latest statistics from this year:
"Between March 2019 and March 2020, 19% or one in five children between the age of 10 and 15 in England and Wales experienced at least one form of cyberbullying"
Only 38% of cyberbullying victims are willing to admit it to their parents.34% of kids in the US have experienced cyberbullying at least once.Cyberbullying victims are 1.9 times more likely to commit suicide.210 out of 1000 victims of bullying are high school girls with different skin color.68% of children that have gone through online harassment have experienced mental health issues.42% of LGBT youth have experienced cyberbullying.33% of teenagers have sent explicit images or text to someone else at least once.66% of female victims have feelings of powerlessness because of cyberbullying.
Next part is coming soon.. since I dont think I can send long posts! Im having a real hard time posting today.
