Course 1, Discussion 3: Avoiding Burnout
7 Cups is founded on a community of passionate volunteers who lovingly dedicate their time to providing support.
You may face what is called burnout during your journey. You may have already faced this in your real life. Burnout is very real and must be recognized. You can't help fuel someone else when your tank is empty, after all!
To address and learn about burnout, we have created a slidedeck on how to avoid burnout.
✒️ We also recommend this growth path on preventing burnout at 7 Cups.
✒️ Activity: Take 5 steps on the burnout prevention path linked above. Post in this thread to let us know you have completed at least 5 steps.
✒️ Please reply to at least 1 of your peers in this thread with encouraging or supportive words!

@OyenteDiego That's awesome to hear that you completed the 5 steps! I think those are some good insights you've pointed out with it being okay to take breaks for self-care. Best of luck on the course!
@Hope I have completed 5 steps of the burnout path!
@Hope

That's awesome! Well done for completing your 5 steps :)
@Hope
I really enjoyed that path and took more than the 5 steps :) which was really good 👍
@Always25
That’s good effort. 👍 I took more than 5 as well. 😁
@Hope
I’ve completed 5 steps on the Burnout Prevention Path! Here are the ones I focused on:
-
Took a short mindful walk to reset my mind and body.
-
Practiced deep breathing for 5 minutes it helped more than I expected!
-
Identified one thing causing me stress and wrote down a small step I can take to manage it.
-
Reached out to a friend just to chat and connect.
-
Scheduled a break for tomorrow to do something I genuinely enjoy, no guilt.
@Sompo2402
I'm really happy to hear you've done this, I think I'm going to take a break tomorrow too, thank you for helping me see this!
@Zaxoosh
I am so happy for you! Tell me how it goes!!!
@Sompo2402
very nice!
@Hope
That's actually a really helpful resource and helped me identify some signs of burnout, thank you for sharing!
@Zaxoosh
Hey, so glad to hear that it helped you as much as it did for me. Remember to prioritize yourself from time to time too !
@Hope
I've taken 5 steps. Thanks for the pathway, Hope; it was certainly a much needed reminder to make sure we also prioritize ourselves from time to time ;)
@greka7
That's awesome. Keep up the sprit.
@Hope
Hello Hope💙
I completed both, the slides as well as the growth path. I must say Burnout & Boundaries are something that we learn really late in any professional setup. And it's very rare that the system we are a part of trains us for that. I'm so grateful for the Cups community who taught us this so early in our journeys. Thank you very much!
