Hello everyone,

If you are reading this, it means you have come a long way in your leadership training. Kudos to you for all the effort and resilience you have shown! It is amazing how you all are open to learning and adapting to new environments: the environment of leadership!

Before we zoom in and talk more about learning and adapting, lets zoom back out first and talk about how you feel about leadership. Regardless of how you see yourself, there is a leader within you. The one who visualizes how things could have run in a better way if you were in the leading spot. Leading spot here means:

  • A desire for change

  • Believing you got the abilities to make it happen

  • Visualizing success while keeping in mind the bigger picture.

Lets take a look at the leadership styles as proposed by Daniel Goleman

Your original style could be any of them. So for the purpose of this course, we are going to use a leadership style test to help you identify your core competencies. In brief, we are using the test here to help you identify your leadership approach. So, when you know how you approach an event, you could think and put efforts to bring a change in it. It will allow you to polish your strengths and focus to improve in other different areas as well.

Let's get started!

- Please take the leadership style test linked HERE.

I got Pacesetting. "Accomplishes tasks efficiently and to high standards of excellence. Leads by modelling. Disinclined to collaborate with peers except to obtain or exchange resources."

I completely agree with this.

✒️ Which leadership style did you score the highest for?

The leadership role that I scored the highest was coaching (35 out of 35), the second highest was pacesetting (31 out of 35) .

✒️ Do you agree with this quiz?

Yes I generally agree with this quiz, I think that I do lean towards coaching  styles of leadership. I think this aligns with my natural inclination towards relationship & community building and also speaks to my dedication to learning & personal growth. I am not too sure about pacesetting, while I agree that a leader should model the behaviors they expect of their employees,  the part that kind of threw me off is that pacesetting is "Disinclined to collaborate with peers except to obtain or exchange resources." I think my style of leadership and work in general is very collaborative so I don't really agree that I fit into this part of the pacesetting style.

(Minor grammatical error in the main post (In bulleted section): "Believing you got the abilities to make it happen," the correct grammar would be "Believing you have the abilities to make it happen")

The highest score I received for the leadership style is commanding as I got a 32 out of 35 on it

✒️ Do you agree with this quiz?

I do somewhat agree with this quiz and style as I believe that we should make sure that everything gets done as soon as possible and i somewhat agree that I'm commanding but also I am willing to listen to others if they feel like the workload is too much

@Hope

I have a coaching leadership style which I do agree with, I tend to value helping a person achieve their goals over organisational aims because I see an organisation as an ecosystem, we are all a part of it. If one person is dissatisfied, I believe it permeates the entire culture.

  1. The leadership style I got the highest score for is Affiliative Leader. Which means that I cultivate relationships with my team members, create achievable goals for all, avoid performance-related arguments of any kind.
  2. I agree with this, because after learning my big 5, doing the spirituality gift quiz and knowing that I am an INFJ. It just really helps me mend more with myself than I was before.
