There are so many advantages to a diverse team which I believe makes 7 Cups such a special place. Firstly having a diverse team offers different ideas and improvements, it offers new viewpoints which make have previously been missed. Additionally it can make problem-solving easier as everyone offers different strengths and weaknesses. As well having a diverse team can allow the community to be active across all time zones for maximum effectiveness ensuring no one feels unsupported.

Being respectful on 7 Cups involves being mindful of pronouns and traditions. It is important to avoid assumptions and allow individuals to share their own views and perspectives. Additionally we should treat others with kindness and in ways we would like to be treated back.

having a diverse team is actually such a win because it keeps things from getting boring and stagnant. since everyone comes from different places, you get way more creative ideas and can actually help people all over the world, not just in one country. plus, it’s super helpful for coverage because people are awake in different time zones, so someone is always around to pitch in. honestly, you just end up learning so many cool new skills and perspectives that make the whole team way more productive.

to be respectful, you really have to ditch those cringey stereotypes and just treat everyone as an individual. it’s also huge to be chill if someone has different beliefs or can't do a certain task because of their values—just be flexible and move things around. we also gotta stay mindful of stuff like diwali or eid and be smart about time zones so we aren't bugging people in the middle of the night. for second language learners, just use simpler words, be patient with their tone, and give helpful, kind feedback instead of being judgy.

Working with a diverse team can be challenging sometimes but there are many more advantages such as: different perspectives actively can create new creative ideas, the global reach, 24/7 support and interacting with different cultures adds to our personal skills as well.

To be respectful we need to avoid making assumptions and understand that stereotypes rarely represent the unique individuals. Respecting individual beliefs, supporting second language learners and coordinating schedules are also very important things.
