First job straight out of high school was at a local bakery/catering company. It was owned and operated by my aunt’s sister in law. Not a bad job, not great pay and part time (so no benefits), but I smelled like cake all the time, got to make icing (A Lot of icing), ice cakes, help bake some cakes, even got to decorate one for Halloween!
We got free cakes for our birthdays, whatever kind we wanted, and sometimes if a customer ordered something special, the main baker would make an extra one for us to share.
