PL 101: Introduce Yourself! (Discussion 1)
Welcome to our first course in the Leadership Development Program! I am very excited to get this going. This has been something we've wanted to do for the last several months and at long last it is here. Please find the course description below. Please also introduce yourself and let us (if comfortable) where you are from and a recent book or movie you have enjoyed. I'll get us started!
Course Description: You have personal gifts and strengths that can help you in life and also help other people. Identifying, amplifying, and deliberately building those strengths enables you to have a better personal life, professional life, and also enables you to more effectively serve others in our community. People sometimes make the mistake of focusing too much on their weaknesses. This can help, but deliberately building your strengths will get you much further in life and in your career. This course provides links to personality testing (MBTI, Big 5) where you can learn to identify your personality style and strengths. It helps you understand how to match your strengths to roles in the 7 Cups community and enables you to find a career path that will be fulfilling. Join other new leaders in individual and group learning exercises.
Please note: In order to successfully complete the LDP, you must respond to all discussion posts. Your comment/response should answer the questions/shows that you completed the given activity (if any). Read the post carefully and follow the instructions given. Save your responses to a document that you can later refer to. You will need to copy/paste your response in the course evaluation form at the end of each course to show that you have done the work and to refresh your memory.

I'm audienta. I've been around on 7 Cups for four and a half years now and have had the opportunity to take up multiple leadership roles during this time. Since I've recently graduated, I now have some spare time that I'd love to invest in improving my leadership style and grow myself.
I live in Switzerland and the last book I read and really love is "The Anthropocene reviewed" by John Green.

Hey everyone!
I’m Sher and I’m from South Carolina (southeast USA).
The last movie I watched was “Tombstone” (1993 edition) It’s a western about Wyatt Earp, and his brothers, surrounding the “O.K. Coral”. ~ Yep, it was the only thing on TV at the time, but still interesting, lol.
[Fun note] I realize this isn’t a typical ‘book’.. but I’m currently reading the phone book. I’m part of a historical preservation group and I’m converting the 1908/1909 Chester County, SC phone book into a searchable database for genealogy researchers.
A real book I’m reading is “The 12 Week Year” by Moran & Lennington. It's about using focus to increase productivity. I’m finding the ideas and approach interesting.

I am Warrier from India. Currently I am working abroad, Mech Engineer by profession.
I started here as a Listener since Dec 2019. I always listening to people than talking. Proper communication is what I believe on and what I understand from my experience in here is most of the problems esp. in relationships happen due to less or mis-communication.
This platform has helped me to understand different people, different approaches and mostly different issues which also made me self realize that by encountering an issue , by listening/learning them, it really helps us as well to deal with life in a very positive manner.

Recently watched Jurassic World: Dominion. Really being from the Jurassic Park Era, not like much this ending. However, enjoyed the 4D version.

Hi, My name is Kaitlyn. I am from the United States. I love helping people. I love reading. Some of the books I have read are Wonder, Stargirl, The Acorn People, The Wave, Saduko and the thousand paper cranes, freak the mighty, and to kill a mockingbird are just a few of my favorite books. However, reading isn't easy for me at all and I get frustrated with myself a lot. Some of my favorite movies remember the titans, color of friendship, dr. suess the Lorax, wonder, the greatest showman are just a few of my favorite movies. I live at home with my sister, mom, dad, our dog, and my brother who I miss dearly.
