question about outward appearance ?
first id like to say sorry if this is a bit of a weird or stupid question, im still trying to learn. im AFAB, but i don't fully like being,,, a girl, if that makes sense. but at the same time, i do. i absolutely enjoy dressing up in feminine ways and having a female appearance, but i don't exactly feel comfortable with being a woman, if that makes sense? i like going by she/her and they/them pronouns, theyre both good to me. am i just over thinking the whole thing? does how you want your appearance to look determine what you want your gender to be? sorry if it is a weird question, i just find myself a bit confused on all this, that's all. thank you for reading! :]

im a trans guy because thats the closest I could get to how I feel. its more complicated than that, but I don't like complicated things, so now it's simple. that doesn't work for everyone but it works for me.
first of all there are no stupid questions and i'm glad you are asking them. if you are comfortable with and enjoy your female appearance, you are not male. plenty of males are comfortable and enjoy looking feminine and that's perfectly okay, but female is a different thing. you are also comfortable being referred to as female or at least she/her. slight discomfort with the idea of being a woman does not equal trans, there could be plenty of other things making you feel that way. and to answer your question, "does how you want your appearance to look determine what you want your gender to be?" no, gender does not equal how you want to look either- boys can wear dresses, girls can have short hair, etc but this does not make them any less boy or girl. if you have no discomfort with your femaleness then you are not trans.

I feel like I understand what you mean. Gender is a very complex topic. It's also largely a societal construct, so there's a very vast spectrum of possibilities there. As someone else said, gender does not have to have a certain appearance. You can be okay with your body and like feminine things and still not view yourself as a woman. Some people have gender dysphoria without body dysphoria as well.
