life here
(probably TW)
hey all
i'm an agender, asexual-aromantic teenager living in the US. and the first thing I want to say is that it's scary here. i'm terrified of what has been happening lately. sometimes I just want to cry because of what is happening. I just happened to researching on a government health website for a science project, and I noticed that there was a notification in the top saying that since there wasn't enough funding, that the website might not be updated. so I did some searching.
and i'm horrified with what I found. apparently, the president (I don't even want to say his name), has decided to remove all instances of inclusion and LGBTQ from government and health websites.
how has this happened?
how has our country come to this?
I just want to live my life not being afraid to be myself.
is that so much to ask?
it terrifies me that this has happened.
I don't know where else to talk about this.
is everyone else as horrified about this as I am?
i'm so scared.
please be safe everyone
i don't know what to expect anymore.
from anyone.
love,
-angel

@angelheart2011 I’m so sorry to hear this. I’m in the US as well and Velveeta Voldemort is ruining whatnot means to be American. Their closed minded definition will not last. I’m not young like you. I’ve never identified as part of the community. I am a 50 year old cis straight white dude. I will never see the world the way you do. I will never have to live with the threats you do. But I am an Ally and will be no less till my last breath. This will not last. If you are looking for sources of hope, I have looked to reading words of 1960s Civil Rights Leaders. Tangerine Taco wants to maga by turning back the clock to a 1950s tv show. It will fail. Also consider what came after their darling 1950s… the 1960s and peaceful movements to change our culture. Have faith. I say this the father of a son and 2 daughters who all identify. Dad Hugs 🫂
Hey there!
Trans adult here that's also located in the states. I've been following the news and current events for awhile. It is indeed horrifying and stressful. The unknown can be too much and it's easily a dark hole of what ifs/possibilities. Lately, I've had to really be intentional on my community, boundaries with information, and leaning on how to continue to be well and safe (or pursing safety).
What you're discovering has been ongoing and there are real safety concerns as a queer person. It's erasure. How you're feeling is valid. Not knowing, fear, and confusion are all valid.
You are deserving to be yourself, confident, and be able to live the life you want to.
I'm glad you reached out here to share your thoughts. Don't stop asking questions and pursuing yourself ♥️
@carrotgoosoup Thank you for the support. I hope you're doing alright. <3

I am so sorry, my heart hurts every time I hear news about the US. Please do not give up, it’s terrifying and it’s so suffocating but I want you to know you are not alone. Hopefully soon enough he will leave the presidential seat. In my country, things are starting to go south as well and I am also scared for what might happen (I am a trans man). It’s a struggle but at least we have the present
