I don't know if I can take much more

I'm a trans woman and seeing what's been going on lately in the news how we're being targeted so much being labeled as violent by so many... it just makes me feel so upset. I don't want to be constantly targeted for being trans, it's exhausting. I just want to leave my parents house and frankly I'm really thinking of leaving the country soon too. It's bad enough that I have to deal with my transphobic unsupportive parents, but now there are people who actively want me gone too... I'm just losing hope rn.

@katie11037 I'm so sorry. You're right, what you're going through is wrong and dehumanizing, to assume that there's something inherently wrong with trans people is blatant hate. I'm not even sure that all who claim transphobic things really believe all they say, it's probably just making excuses to let out their hate. For example, the claim that trans people are violent because of that one time a trans person committed a violent crime is just ridiculous, even more so considering that the majority of crime is committed by an entirely different demographic. And yet, the strategic use of single events to manipulate public opinions has a large resonance.

I truly hope you'll be able to find yourself a support network, people and environments that will be able to see and value you as you truly are. If that means distancing yourself from your family or even your country, I hope you'll find a way to do that at your own terms and that it will be all worth it in the long run. Remember, no matter what happens, never let them make you hate yourself. You are worth all the love, joy and freedom in the world.

I'm with you, I'm also a Transwoman and I'm married to a Black woman. Even though my primary friend group is all queer/trans/nonbinary or legit serious allies I'm still very anxious about going out and being social. I had a half nightmare that included an old Cis dude watching me in a big public bathroom. It was all gender but the stall doors were small with big gaps and the guy had a policing look on his face liked Id be in trouble for existing. I don't feel safe around Cis men I don't know and any interaction with the police is a nightmare scenario for me.

I'm scared as all and abandoned hope a while back as a trauma response. But for action I'm just going to keep moving. I have to act like life will continue because it will fall apart on its own if I don't. I go to work, make dinner, etc. until something changes that way it's truly nothing I do ti make it fail.
