How Animals Help Us To Be In The Moment

Have you ever thought to yourself what keeps me in the present moment? The company of animals has been noticed to have a healing effect in many of our lives. Could this be because they do not judge us like fellow humans do. Animals can get annoyed with us if we stroke them the wrong way, but they never judge us for any flaws we may have. Lets say a cat for instance: Would it ever judge you for how much we eat? Credit card debts? Or that we do not call our moms as much as we should? Our animals love us they can embody mindfulness to an individual by being a non-judgemental source of comfort. They are not busy thinking about yesterday or what is happening tomorrow. They are simply there sitting in the present moment.

You may be thinking: Hey Karrot why are you talking about animals being in the present moment? Well pets can help us to practice mindfulness did you know that? Next time you are with your pet I want you to take a few moments to really notice everything about them. When you stroke the, pay close attention to how their fur, feathers, scales etc. feels beneath your hand. Maybe even just imagine that it is the first time you ever felt them and see what a difference it makes to your experience with them. Notice their appearance. Watch how they are breathing, listen to their heartbeat if you are snuggled up with them. Perhaps the most important thing of all, create a sense of gratitude for having them in your life. Let the gratitude fill you from head to toe.

for conveying to the 7cups community about how animals can

help us be mindful. I had a cat whom brought me many happy

and relaxing moments in his life here on earth. I recently replaced

I loved your post! Well done. I recently lost one of my goldfish, Daisy. She was younger than my other fish, Goldie, but she was awfully sick. Goldie and Daisy taught me to hang on, because the best part is usually next!

Animals know more about mindfulness than human kind because all animals live in the present...they are always mindful, for them it always about "now" even if it is about storing food for winter for them it is a "now" task and a preoccupation on the "now" present...when they feel happy or sad with us it's in the now...

Long time time ago I wrote about gratotude to our animals in a gratitude related context...how we can be grateful for our friends who help us with our me tal, emotional or even physical struggles and more...

My last dog was the one who put his head on my hip where I had my cancer, the cat of my grandfather stayed on his chest whenhe had his lung cancer...for me are no coincidences...

Glad to know someone revives the importance of animals in our lives just if nothing but making us lough at tgeir antiques in the moment...

I know for sure that cats can relieve stress (scientists proved it). Another question is taking care of them. As I've been living with cats the whole life, I can say that it is important to give them meds /supplies to prevent different diseases or other health problems. But it should be mentioned that online pharmacies have already made this process really easier (I use Pet Pharmacy Online for this purpose). Also it is necessary to choose a good food for them. In general, cats are associated with warmth and calmness. But it's only my opinion.

Wow this is an old thread that just popped up. Riding and being with my horses always requires I be in the moment. They are so big and powerful, gotta be aware of my space around them.

@barncat You are so right. It's pretty amazing really when you think of how we can build a close relationship with horses?
