Definition of Mindfulness: the practice of focusing on the present moment through thoughts, feelings, and sensations.

Mindfulness is a human ability that we all possess, which we can practice by sitting down, taking a walk outside in a park or at the beach, or engaging in moving meditations.

Meditation is a technique for reducing stress and achieving inner peace. It can be practiced by anyone in various ways, offering calmness, and balance.

When you meditate you are freeing your mind of all the thoughts and feelings you are having, and help you in working out any concerns you are having.

Meditation will help people with certain illnesses such as anxiety, cancer, depression, and sleep problems. Meditation does not replace medical treatments, but it something can be done by you any time of the day.

Ways to Meditate:

Focus on attention - this helps free your mind of things that are giving you stress and relase the tension.

Breathing- Whether your sitting or laying down focus on how you are breathing. You want to breath slowly, in through the nose and out your mouth.

Quiet setting- Find a place that you can be alone and have no interruptions. You can relax pretty much anywhere.

Comfortable position- Finding a position you are comfortable with that will help you relax. You want to get the most of the relaxed position your in.

Open attitude- When you meditate, allow your thoughts to drift away. Let them pass through your mind so you can continue with your day.
