Daily Check-In August 8th to August 10th 2025

Some of us want to build confidence in ourselves to feel better about ourselves. We want to trust our abilities and have confidence in judging the things in our lives. Self-confidence when we are able to control our lives is good for our health and well-being.

Sometimes it is hard to have self-confidence because we did something wrong or made a mistake. When we doubt ourselves, we are second-guessing ourselves, and once we achieve the confidence we are looking for, we can keep doing it like a daily routine.

Self-confidence will improve not only our personal life but also our professional life. We will be able to hold our heads up and conquer the world as we see it. I have built my confidence since childhood with family members comparing me to others. We all must have faced it in life. We want to be accepted for who I am, faults and all.

In life, we need to weed out the toxic and negative people and surround ourselves with the positive people. These people will have our backs when we are down or in need of help. We begin by taking care of our mental and physical health, which helps us have confidence in ourselves.

In exercising, we meditate to calm our body and mind, and meditation is a great way to boost confidence. Dieting is another way to boost ourselves up, and eating right helps us raise that confidence, because we are taking care of ourselves.

I set small goal also because it is easier for me to do rather than a large goal where I know I will not finish it

Thank you for sharing this post. I struggled self-confidence in my childhood, I was told I wasn't able to study and achieve no career. Thanks to the strength I had within, I achieved in my life two degrees, one bachelor degree and a master degree and beyond other courses which I purposed to myself. It's terrible when somebody can make you believe something you aren't.

Unfortunately, a several of these keep one from doing the others. I just work, eat, sleep, repeat.

I thought having a job that gave me 3 day weekends would be a great thing. Instead, it gives me too much time to myself and most of it is spent alone. One's mind can go down the negative rabbit hole very easily and is difficult to climb out of. I'm not sure if I'm trying to climb out or attempting to dig a tunnel.

I found one of my turning points was cutting out all the toxic people in my life that were reinforcing my inner critic.

They never belittled me directly it was all so barely distinguishable so when I walked away, sometimes quietly, other times noisily.

I realised how damaging they were and without that constant pick, pick, pick, eventually I found my true voice and I was able to work on myself and I got stronger and stronger, I still have bad days but picking myself up, got faster.

@ScrabbleBrain

I agree cutting out the toxic or negativity we get from people will build our self -confidence. Maybe they will see at times we are better than them. Some may learn while others may not care to fix their problem

@pamharley003 Very true, some did mature but the damage was done and others got worse. I guess it bothers me, how can people not see how cruel they are. Almost like they delight in your misery.

That's why I prefer to lift people up, celebrate their joys :)

how do you set goals for yourself to achieve confidence?

for us we break things down into steps so not have to get everything done in a short time. this really helps build up confidence.

another one we do is set goals we know we can meet not ones that well would be to much to do with our health issues.

we learned to say no to others and set boundaries  so that  builds confidence  for us. we use to believe we had to say yes to others all the time. it wear us out also tore down our confidence a lot. as when we was unable to met the things we said yes to. others would get mad that would destroy  our confidences  really fast.
