Mindful affirmations help retrain your focus from negative thoughts and feelings to positive ones. They enable you to concentrate on the joys and opportunities in your life.

Positive affirmations are statements we tell ourselves, such as "I got the job I wanted" or "I have overcome the challenges I wanted to change in my life." By doing this, we can boost our well-being.

Here are some ways to enhance our well-being:

1. **Give yourself a chance to grow.** Engaging in this practice allows us to embrace the positivity we need in our lives.

2. **Trust in the timing of your life.** We all want things to go smoothly, but sometimes that doesn’t happen. It’s important to take things slowly when making changes; they don’t happen overnight.

3. **Validate your feelings.** Acknowledge your positive feelings to help you move forward in life.

4. **Make your well-being a priority.** Your well-being is important, and when something isn’t working right, it’s essential to change it so you can feel more at peace.

5. **Put your needs first.** Stop trying to please others; the most important person to please is yourself. Be accepting of who you are.

6. **Tell yourself, "I can and I will."** By repeating this, you communicate to your inner self that you can succeed and accept who you have become.

@pamharley003

The first thing I do when I wake up is to listen to positive affirmations and I find it does really help to get into a good mood for the day.

How can you treat yourself better? I am much less harsh on myself than I used to be years ago.

What are some ways you can focus on your own growth rather than trying to satisfy others? I learned to say "No" when needed to have time for myself.

Thank you for posting this!

I need to learn how to refocus my attention towards my own needs and telling myself firmly and compassionately, you deserve this. You matter too!

@Amanda84

I agree I have stopped worrying about others and focus on my well-being. If I can not be where I want in life then I can not be there for others.

How can you treat yourself better?

we been not allowing others to tell us what we like and not like we been finding our own identity  apart from our mom one we no longer just her daughter or our brothers sister we reclaiming  our life and  this is making us feel better about us we set boundaries  and no longer let other cross them

we now  treat self better by not hurting self as that was set up by our abusers to harm ourself was taught by them we no longer believe what they told us so in that we treat self better

What are some ways you can focus on your own growth rather than trying to satisfy others?

we came to a point that we not care what others say as much we know we not what other call normal but that ok to us we not have to please others or free they will not like us we found others who like us just as we be not have to wear the masks we always did so we focusing  on removing the masks and being our own person not what  we think others expected us to be

this new freedom to just be ourselves  is what we focusing  on now and big part of our healing journey

I can treat myself better by taking self care breaks. I can tell myself that No one is perfect when I feel the need to be perfect. I can also practice gratitude journaling to help me shift my focus on the positive side.

Some ways I can focus on my own growth rather than trying to satisfying others are as follows:

Journaling my thoughts.

Praying about what I am finding difficulty with.

Physical activity/moving my body.

Doing the things I love such as crocheting, drawing/doodling and playing the keyboard.
