Journaling is a private space to express yourself and explore your inner world and thus a great tool for emotional management.

  • Do you keep an emotion journal?
  • If not, how could writing down your emotions benefit your well-being?

@amiablePeace77 I don't journal, cause I don't understand how I am feeling. But it is easier to express that through art. Except yesterday morning my bunny knocked over a tube of yellow paint. I had a yellow bunny😕 oopsies! Dw it was only poster paint nothing harmfull. And I washed it straight off😂😂he looked funny😂😂😂 poor bunny

Your bunny needs to learn mindful walking! We all need to find out what works best for us, art is great for sure!

I've tried so many times to start journaling over the years. I've always got the best of intentions but end up quitting after just a few days.  I think probably alot of it is the fact that I don't know how I am feeling myself, as previously mentioned in another post on here. I play on my phone alot.  I guess that's a release for me. I do see how writing things down in a journal could really help though.

I hear you. Some days our emotions can be all over the place and it's difficult to understand what is really going on inside. Nice that you found your way to distract yourself.

This is an emotion wheel, it can help to find the right word for our emotion.

  • Do you keep an emotion journal? That sounds like a helpful idea but I am not doing that now although I have in the past.
  • If not, how could writing down your emotions benefit your well-being? I try to meditate on my emotions and connect in my mind similar type experiences.

Yes I keep a journal. It's very helpful to write out thoughts/ideas/feelings and be about to see them later.

@LovingPeacefulHeart

Nice to see you in the forum again and great that you're journaling your emotions. Looking  at your journal entries a later date can help to detect things which might have been overlooked (like patterns)

I do keep a journal, but it's more like a diary rather than writing about my emotions. I generally don't like thinking about them too much if they are negative.

I suppose it would be helpful to keep one if you want to track your moods.

I really like the idea, I even have a journal, but it is full of black pages.

I like the book StoryWorthy as a means for starters and then there is the weekly Isolation Journals Substack with great prompts. But, like I said, empty pages.

@dadalo

Thank you for sharing this information. I hope that you can turn the empty pages into a story that reminds you of the good things you have accomplished in life.
