Hello lovely people in the mindfulness community, how is everyone doing today? laugh

Feeling good in your own skin smiley

Trying to please others constantly to feel validated or to be a perfectionist puts you in a self-imposed prison. Finding self-worth within yourself allows you to become comfortable with who you are.

enlightened What is something you do already or can do to work on your self-esteem to feel better in your own skin?

I can keep up with my yoga, and other things that require routine discipline. That way I can feel good and, in turn, feel good about myself.

What is something you do already or can do to work on your self-esteem to feel better in your own skin?

I know that I need to work on self discipline, I always put things off and get mad at myself for not doingt them or I feel that I'm wasting time.

@Goldcherry2113 I'm happy to see you here with us! Please don't feel bad on self discipline and putting things off. We all do it time to time-honest. May I suggest maybe leaving sticky notes, reminders on your phone, notes on a calendar to help you with not forgetting things or putting things off. I do hope this gets better for you.heart

I just got a haircut on Thursday and I felt immensely better! I love it - it's short, looks great, I feel lighter, bouncy and it has lifted my spirit! It was time, waaaay overdue actually!

@amiablePeace77

Thanks for the question From my class I have learned that before I can fix a hole in the wall I need to recognize that there is an actual hole there. Then I need tools to fix the hole with.

So for me I never realized just how much of an impact trauma can inflict on a person, which in turn causes faulty programming being downloaded into us as children and resides there even after adulthood. Challenging my thoughts, observeing my, actions and investigating why I have low self esteem stems from a rot. What was that seed that was downloaded into me caused me to have feelings of not being enough, or caused attachment issues or codependent qualities. Which makes me feel like I am unworthy of love or the good life. Who downloaded into us makes a tremendous effect on how we see ourselves today.

@scarletPear1945 -oh wow I really do like how you shared this. yes ahh yes trauma CAN cause re-wiring in our brains and not the right way. Our main issues that stick within us does normally come from a "root" meaning a main issue that affects us in a lot of things. I wish now that you could let that seed go. Let it drop out of you and dry up. Let a new seed come in and develope into a beautiful flower. I really loved what you shared here- thank youheartheart

@soulsings good to see you! Doing the dishes and being able to "actually" feel those bubbles and smell your dish soap is very mindful. I do this 2 times a week as those are my turns. I got lemon dish soap and I swear I'm doing a little dishes for over 30 minutes. Thank you Souls for sharingheart
