Daily Check-In for July 14th to July 16th 2025

Forgiveness means different things to everyone. How we forgive someone who said something wrong to us or how their actions were means a lot to us, we want to forgive people because it is healthy to ourselves and to them. It means making a decision to let go of resentment and anger.

Forgiveness allows us to go down a path of physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. It does not mean forgetting that someone hurt us it means bringing peace to both of us and coming to terms with the situation.

Forgiveness can help us:

have healthier relationships

improve our mental state

have less anxiety, stress and anger

Being hurt by someone we know whether family or friends can cause us to be angry, sad and confused. We wonder what did we do to deserve this from others and begin to second guess ourselves. Forgiving others can be hard because we wonder if they might do it again later on in life after saying their sorry. We begin to lose trust in the person and distance ourselves from them.

Trust - NO......   I'm a very spiteful person and probably would always have my guard up, IF I forgave them.

Is it easier to forgive someone or forget what they did to you?

Depending on severity of what they did, I could see it in me to forgive. I probably would not forget what they did to me.

I do not speak to my older brother he is 66, I'm 60. It has been 8 years now and I most likely will never speak to him again.

@pamharley003

It depends on the person. There are people I forgave but keep my guards up for safety and those I would trust again provided they are not betraying me again. I find it hard to forget certain things but it will not stay at the front of my mind.

Thank you @pamharley003 ✨

I will forgive and then -eventually, forget… However, I won’t trust in that person anymore or just distance completely

Sometimes, I totally forget 🙂 it feels lighter to not carry grudges or sad memories, so I keep the good ones and move on

Can you trust someone you forgave for something or will you always have  your guard up to them?

depends on if they changed their ways we have some we forgiven we can now trust due to they changed to a better person in actions and words

but we have some we activity  have forgiven over and over but still have to keep up guard around them due to they mostly unsafe they not changed in actions and words they say

Is it easier to forgive someone or forget what they did to you?

we believe one to forgive but never forget due to if one forgets then they can put self in harms way again with same person. we also believe that forgiveness is a choice one can make then if the thought come up again about what that person done one can activity forgive again for us forgiveness does not have to happen all at one time either just like healing forgiveness is a journey too

but one should never forget what another done due to when you forget then your more to just self in harms way with same peoples

@pamharley003 Can you trust someone you forgave for something or will you always have your guard up to them? It's hard enough for me to trust people. I might be able to understand why they did something and can eventually forgive them but the relationship won't ever be the same again

Is it easier to forgive someone or forget what they did to you? It's easier to forgive but that takes some time too

*How are you Pam? Is your surgery coming up soon?

@pamharley003 Hey it's great that you've been stopping smoking! It takes time to stop things like that. I have faith in you! 12 weeks! Omgosh, do you have things in mind to help keep you occupied during that time? Puzzles and books?
