Taking Initiative and Mindfulness
Daily Check-In May 22nd to May 24th 2026
Taking initiative is doing something fully without being ased to do it. We may be doing a project at work and given instructions on how to do the project and now it is in your hands to be initiative and get it finished.
Mindfulness keeps you focused on the present. what is going on around you right at this moment. When you merge initiative and mindfulness you are allowing you to live a fulfilled life. You know something has to be done so you decide to get up and achieve that goal in life, if you sit around it will never be done.
Mindful decision making:
The Pause: before doing what needs to be done sit down and look at what it is your going to do, make a plan on how it is to be done and in an effective time frame.
Prioritze wisely: Use the time to look at what areas are important and get those done first everything else should fall in line.
Resources: look into help online if it is a project a little harder than you usually do. If your planting a garden, read up on certain ways to make the garden look, what flowers to put in there seasonally.
You begin to focus on what is important and what areas are harder or easier. You tackle the easy ones first and then work on the harder ones. The 3 tP's of mindfulness are pause,getting present, and pivoting.
Pause: take time to sit down and go over what it is your going to do, get everything in order to doit.
Getting present: be in the now phase of getting the initiative done. Know that you can not rely on the past but what is in front of you.
Proceed: once you have everything in order, now is the time to get it done and completed. take small breaks in between to see how it is going and if something needs to be changed.

How can you be proactive in your life to make things happen?
Is it hard tackling hard jobs?

Hard jobs can be challenging for sure, so I use positive self-talk and remind myself that I have mastered a number of tough challenges before. To me, it's about trying so that I can tell myself the following: "At least I tried".
@amiablePeace77
I must take note and remind myself of this
@pamharley003
If I think too much about something I tend to not do it.
So I like to get it out of the way as soon as my day starts , giving myself the rest of the day to focus on other things and not worry.
It's never as bad as I first thought 💙
@Amanda84
same but I can't just do it right away... I need that morning time to gain energy like a slow poke then sit and get the courage to do those 10 first minutes...which are the hardest. Still need to try and see how I'll manage to be more constant and mindful. So much time is spent worrying instead of doing the task.

How can you be proactive in your life to make things happen?
I try to be proactive by setting small, realistic goals and taking action instead of waiting for the perfect moment.
Breaking tasks into manageable steps helps me stay focused, and mindfulness reminds me to pay attention to what I can do in the present rather than worrying too much about the future.
Is it hard tackling hard jobs?
I think difficult tasks can feel intimidating at first, especially when they seem overwhelming.
What helps me is approaching them one step at a time and being patient with myself throughout the process.
Even if progress is slow, each small step makes the task feel more manageable.
