The Power of Compassion and Mindfulness
Daily Check-In for January 16th to January 18th 2026
Definitions:
Compassion: is a deep feeling of sorrow and concern for another person's feelings. It involves recognizing stress, feeling of empathy, and being able to provide comfort, and aid to someone else.
Mindfulness: providing moment to moment awareness of the now feeling. It is observing movements withou passing judgement.
The power of compassion and mindfulness lies with you having the ability to transform your inner feelings and outer relationships into a present -moment awareness ( mindfulness) and extending kindness to someone ( compassion ).
When you use these two together your earsing the negative thoughts and feelings from your body. We all want to treat everyone else as we would want to be treated. We first need to understand no one is perfect, and they deal with almost the same things we do in life, just in different ways.
How we handle a situation may be different from how our best friends or family members would handle it. There is no right or wrong way, just what is comfortable to you.
When you meditate you are teaching you body and mind to relax and how to reset our minds. We all may meditate differently but, reseting you body and mind is a key point to living a health lifestyle. These two together make up a powerfool tool-box.
Setting boundaries for yourselfr can be daunting. But setting boundaries for ourselves can help maintain a healthy life. When things go wrong we mindfully reset our brains to a much more clamer state without being judgemental to yourself.
Self-Compassion is being kinder to yourself and learning from mistakes made during the day. You need to be compassionate to yourself before we can show others compassion.
How to practice Compassion and Mindfulness together:
Mindful Awareness: being aware of your present statge of being, the now, not how you were yesterday or how you may be tomorrow. Being present of this helps you work out what is wrong now by having tools to work with.
Loving-Kindness: you first need to love who you are no one told you growing up was easy or no one can fix mistakes you made unless it is YOU. Love yourself for what your doing employment wise, how you care for family and friends. Enjoy being you.
Self-Compassion breaks: taking breaks to regroup your mind of how your feeling ishow to do that. Go out and take that walk you were wanting to do, do that arts and crafts you been wanting to try, journal write how your feeling and work on ways to fix it. Exercise a little more than usual to relax not only your body but your mind.
Slow-Down: don not rush to get something done, it only can create problems. Things do not get done properly when you rush it. Take the time to get it done 100% correct.
How would you use Compassion and Mindfulness together ?
How do you feel once you are in a relaxed state?

Loving -Kindness- I love that 🥰
Compassion and mindfulness are combined for me by being aware.
By learning how other people process and communicate and meeting them where they are at.
Being adapting 🤗💚
@pamharley003 Very cool advice. Thanks for sharing, Pam.

I understood I need to make sure my boundaries are being respected, that I have that time a week that I don't need to worry for fuitale things... if my father doesn't want to reason or if something bad is happening around me, I can't be always the one to try and prevent it or fix it... I have to let some things go even if that means they'll go bad, I must choose my fight and be compassionate with myself that it isn't my fault, I can't be running after a person and every mistake they make that doesn't want to change. I must find my sacred time and space which I can have my peace.
@The24hrClimber
You need to look out for number#1 YOU. I have learned to put everyone else second and make sure that I am okay. I use to make me #2 and everyone else first. I can't solve their problems or situations because I am not them. It is hard but you need to make sure your okay
@pamharley003
yeah, and it is hard bc you need to keep reminding them to respect such boundaries... being vocal about them over and over again until they understand...for me this was and still is the hardest, to tell people to please give you your space.
"I wish you peace, happiness, and health in your life" for all. Especially for people I have/experience/feel disdain, disagreement, unhappiness, no respect, disdain, contempt, disgust, loathing, dislike, disapproval.
I am aware of my feelings, and let them pass; they don't escalate into actions, and they motivate/encourage me to guide my thoughts towards others to being positive. My emotional state quickly changes when I wish people happiness, peace, and the ability to have a clear mind to use wisdom. I can feel it.
We're all humans here on this small planet. Zooming out and seeing the earth from space in meditation makes me feel hopeful, calmer, and lets the negative emotions pass. 🌏
@pamharley003
I used compassion today, I accepted that I have certain feelings towards someone and that I can't really help not having them, this is the first time I think I trully did accept them and they did kinda go away, I'm not obsessing over them as before, trying to "cancel" them. I think it's because I was embarrased ot thought such feelings of attraction where so childish but I think the problem aren't so much those feelings that can only be natural sometimes, it is important to not let them cloud your mind and take over.
@The24hrClimber I suppose that I still have this idea that as a women I must always have "pure" thoughts all the time and that even a little crush is a sin or madness. There's always a balance and an understanding that we are human after all even us of the female gender... we've been idealized for so long and told what to think and do that I think it is harder for us to remember that we are humans too.
Thank you for this reminder. A while ago I began a healing journey by making room each morning to write about kindness, understand what it is, how it makes room, and how I can support others to experience more of it. In that practice I found myself able to really be present in the rest of the day. I thought I had outgrown that, funny old me. I appreciate your post, I think I will add kindness writing to my morning routine again.
@charmingZebra4754 could you give me an example of what you would write for kindness, especially towards yourself... do you write how even if something went bad, you manage to do something good of it? or how to do that next time?
Aw, thanks! Yes, an example might be, "I wonder is kindness a skill or an emotion, an idea...When I consider practicing kindness, I experience emotions that offer me memories of belonging and joy. So kindness seems like a skill, and also some how like an emotion. Yet kindness seems like something more than both. Today I will think about kindness as a skill, as an emotion, and I will wonder if I can make kindness more possible for more people."
Since I used to keep a little notebook by the door, so I remembered kindness writing before I got started with the work of the day, and I don't have one yet ... here goes,
Sometimes kindness seems like an idea, and when I consider it that way, the way I consider ideas in general changes. To me, the thought of kindness builds this possibility of being together more, as an individual person 😌, as a family, as communities. The thought doesn't necessarily build spaces where that can happen or make palpable changes in the world around me, and yet, it sure does make room to consider those things. Today I will ask myself how does the idea of kindness make room for emotions that bring such a sense of hope to me?
(I'll find myself a little kindness writing notebook today too 🙂)
That's so nice also interesting how our brain works, how there's all this other dimension which is diffult to even describe that effects us so much even with a simple gesture as a kindness book.
