The Power of Forgiveness

Forgiveness is different for everyone. Sometimes is can be for the smaalest things while other times it is for a hardest siutation, and we tend to forgive the person who did us wrong. But sometimes when we forgive someone our guard is up to make sure the same situation does not happen again or who have our guard up because we hope the wrong doing is truely forgiven.

Forgiveness is when we let go of resentment and anger. Something a person said or their actions were done wrongly and we are then told their sorry. But are they truely sorry or was it said out of spite. We can only take a person's word for their actions but then we become very careful when the person is around us.

When we forgive someone we can improve our self-esteem, improve our heart rate, improve mental health, lower blood pressure and other things. when we hold a grudge we tend to bring anger and bitterness to ourselves, be wrapped up in the wrong that we were dealt and can not appreciate the now and become depressed and sad.

We need to recognize the forfgiveness and move toward a solution to that situation that happened. We tend to leary when someone who lied or hurt us comes near us in the future. Forgiveness is hard and we need to work on trying to accept apologies and work on ourself spiritually and in a calm and healing manner.

Practicing empathy is where we try to see it in the other persons eyes and mind and see why they did that. We begin to ask ourselves of the actions and gestures of the other person. Reflect when others forgave us for a wrong doing or words that were not meant to be said.

When someone does not change after saying their sorry we build a wall up for that person because once they were apologetic they did not change or understand their actions. We want to feel at peace with their apology, trust them again that something like this does not happen again.

If it is any one of us who needs forgiveness we need to generally be sorry for our words or actions. We want the other person to know we truely mean what is said in an apology and that we will not do it again. We hope the person can understand why we did wrong to them and accept our forgiveness.

@pamharley003

Forgiveness is hard, it's something so personal and it's highly dependent on what was done! Im in the middle on it 💜

@pamharley003 I have struggled a LOT with forgiveness. For me, forgiveness is an ongoing journey rather than a destination to arrive at because I am continually challenged to deal with the hurt in numerous ways. Having CPTSD complicates things but I am still trying to forgive - for my own peace of mind. Thank you for this great post. I think it is good to talk more about things like this. :)

@Botoga

I agree massively that it's a continuous journey and not an instantaneous decision 💜🥰

@Botoga

Thank you for enjoying the post. For meforgiveness is hard when I am constantly wondering if the person actually means I'm sorry. For me when someone lies to me the wall goes up on them for further reasons of waiting for them to mess up again.

Hi Pam.. Its a nice topic.. Forgiveness

I believe we shall forgive people even if they don't apologize because keeping things in our mind we hurt ourselves whereas ths other person unaffected enjoys their life..

So for ourselves, as a self care we shall forgive the person beforehand (*totally my person opinion).

But, it doesn't mean that we forget and let the person hurt us again.. that's a big No.

So keeping this in mind hope I was able to convey myself..

Again its totally my personal opinion.. Its not a suggestion to anyone.. Everyone story and experiences are different.. So it applies accordingly.

Sending positive beam and Strength to All 💙 💜

I agree that we should try to accept the person whether they apologize or not because keeping it inside of ourselves. We can forgive but not forget in fear it may happen again (hopefully not ).Your opinion is similar to mine.

@pamharley003

When someone asks us to forgive them is it easy for you to do or hard?

when someone ask us to forgive them we find it easy but it harder when trying to forgive someone that not ask to be forgiven but we chose to  forgive them let go of the bitterness and we also feel that forgiveness is for person who was hurt as it free them even when the other person not ask for forgiveness

When can you not forgive someone?

for us we believe in being forgiving really it a chose to  forgive someone for us it not based on feeling too it more based on our spiritual beliefs and being free from all that come from not forgiving another person

even after one forgive another feeling can come up about things done but then you work through them feelings one at a time  so also we believe even after you forgiven another person feelings and thoughts can come up due to how you was hurt
