Strength… or Silence?

Sometimes I wonder who decided that strength means holding everything in.

B'cus most days, it doesn’t feel like strength… it feels like slowly breaking without making a sound.

When you stay "strong" all the time…does it actually make you stronger,or just better at hiding how u feel?

I find it hard to hold back my emotions. I cry and let it all out both in private and public situations. Sometimes I feel that people who've seen me cry might think I'm weak but in retrospect, I've realised that it only shows that I feel too deeply and that's totally okay. Those people will probably forget about it in a matter of days, months or a year? But no one cares in the long term. You have to be your own protector.

Honestly, I agree with this...!! Feeling deeply isn’t weakness at all, it just means you’re human. N I think there’s also strength in learning when to hold it together and when to let it out. At the end of the day, Ppl's move on fast, so it really comes down to how we handle ourselves and protect our own peace.

I think silence is best in some situations because not everyone needs to know our story, or are deserving of sharing in our vulnerabilities.

But when we find people we truly trust and love, it's crucial to open up, because silence only compounds the situation and makes it worse , it needs an outlet or you only turn it inward 💙

Yeah, I agree with this a lot ❤️. Not everyone deserves access to ur vulnerable side, n silence can actually be strength in the wrong spaces. But at the same time, keeping everything in forever just eats you up. the key is knowing who’s safe enough to hear ur truth n having the courage to open up when it actually matters 😊💕

Hiding your emotions is often mistaked for strength because the actual strength is MANAGING your emotions, they're two entirely different things, but on the outside, they look the same, so you'll just look unaffected, calm, resilient, and other traits that can appear as good but they can also be signs of holding back stuff that doesn't need to be held back, emotion management can be a path like any other of learning, so crying out loud maybe isn't bad at all if it's for the real strength to appear

Exactly...!!! ❤️ there’s a big difference between suppressing emotions n actually understanding n managing them. From the outside it might look the same, but internally it’s completely different. Letting it out when needed isn’t weakness... ❤️ it’s part of learning how to handle yourself better...!! Real strength is balance..!!, not pretending nothing affects you..!! ❤️

That's deep, i love it... Thank you so much for sharing <3 ❤️

I feel so much better after a fry, (edit: cry, but honestly, fries too.) :p Lately I've been tearing up more readily, and I think it's been very good. Is it comfortable in the moment? No! 😆 But it lifts the heavy burden from the soul and reveals what needs to be healed, it reveals our humanity to each other, too. Don't let anyone tell u it's not okay to cry. ❤️‍🩹

You are right.

Emotional strength is not when we don't show any emotions..and hide it behind your smile or roting from within...

It is to realise life has both ups and downs and accepting it...the feelings, the thoughts,,

Every person's way of expressing emotions are different.

Some feel deeply its not a weakness.

It just accept the lows ,move forward ...

Don't fight against the thoughts..

Let the unpleasant thoughts or feeling wander just like some words..

Thoughts maybe true or false

But what we need to check if its helpful for our life ahead or keeping us behind...

Thoughts are just stories ,all stories are not real...

The more you fight emotions ut peep out more..

Let them wander without them affecting us and observe it from outside.

Emotional strength is when we move forward even with difficulties around believing ourselves

Have a great time🍃🍃🍃
