Forgive The Past!!

Hey Lovelies <3

I think we all have some past events, incidents or experiences which we still not forgave. Its still there somewhere in our mind. We didn't forget them yet because somewhere we are not WILLING to do it. We holding onto it like anything.

But do you think? Doing this will do any good? Maybe we could try to forgive such past, learn from it and just make move in our lives??

Because every day comes with new struggles as well as hopes and opportunities.

So, how long could we carry the burden of such past events on our shoulders? Lets drop them and put it aside and move forward to explore what life holds for you next?

Hope it makes sense!!

So, with that note, I'd like to hear what's your way to accept and forgive the PAST?

Let's share!!!

Forgiveness is tough, especially forgiving people. I think it's important to note that for some, forgiveness can be an instant one-time-and-done act. But, for others, forgiveness might be granted in cycles over a lifetime. I think both types of forgiveness are okay and a step in taking more control over our lives and feeling less burdened.

For me, forgiveness is a door that reduces suffering. Most people/situations are forgiven as a one-time-and-done act because I don't want to keep dwelling on something that has hurt me. I would rather spend my time feeling more positive emotions. This is easier said than done for a lot of people, and for that, I count my luck that I am able to do this and don't look down on others who cannot at this time.

I realize that people who hurt me may never get what they deserve, but that's how life works. It's unfair sometimes. We may receive justice and sometimes we don't. I have learned it's better to give myself justice by putting down the gavel and moving on, but that's me. smiley

What a lovely post. You afre so right when you say about forgiveness sometimes being given in stages over a long length of time.

Of course that old saying "forgive and forget" does not need to be true. Some people may decide that forgiveness does put the matter to rest thus allowing them to forget the incident, or.we can forgive but perhaps should always take lessons from the hurt with us so that we grow stronger and can use that knowledge further down the line either to help protect ourselves or others from a repeat.

Forgiving myself has been tough for me, as I was an overthinker, and self citic, who can never accept any less than expected.

Now I feel a little free or better but glimpses are still there. Each day I swing between hating and forgiving me, in a small internal way, not any external changes others can see.

Well, it has just delalyed my some of plans and goals, so trying to forgive my lengthy proceses of changing.

@ASilentObserver how do you forgive yourself when you feel like you let the people that love you the most down

@blueDime8589 Hello, kinda smilar I faced. I chose self-compassion. And knowing that I was unaware of me and my intentions. Depending upon what particular happened, it may take time. But once you will start on the way, it's sure you won't need to look back. We can love them again, better and better everyday.

Important is to see small changes we accomplish and not expecting for big, sudden change. It is possible to be free in a second, and start fresh.
