Mindfulness Check-in Oct 4
"Can we talk?"
A three words question is powerful. It can surprise and make other people curious. It can strike a conversation.
You know talk is helpful. It helps you to speak your thoughts, share your feelings, discuss your ideas and fix the differences.
Yes! talking is good.
It also reflects the importance of communication. Isn't it?
I do not want to explain the whole process of talk and mindfulness practice because you know it better. You are doing it.
What I want you to do is talk.
Whenever something bothering you, you feeling stressed, or anything that you want to share. Then go to the person you rely the most upon or connect to 7Cups and ask a simple question,
"Hey, Can we talk?"
Take the lead and let your mind gets some oxygen.
You know sometimes a solution is might be just there but you might miss noticing it. But when you talk to other people, it helps you to recognize and acknowledge that idea you probably be seeking for.
Sooooo?
How often do you talk about your thoughts and feelings? How do you feel after talking?
Talk about it with us today!!

"Can we talk?", a question that can be the most helpful and also a stressful question to be asked.
It's a closed ended question and you don't know where it's going to lead. You might not feel well or able to talk about specific things that moment. So either you are an experienced listener and reply with "what would you like to talk about?". Or you might start assuming which can lead to using an exit strategy and avoid talking with that person.
It can be hurtful then and lead to misunderstanding on both sides.
So in my very humble opinion, it's best to prepare the person you want to talk with and tell them what your topic will be. :)
that was very helpful for me to read, Soulfull.... i need to learn how to talk to people with whom i am offended and mistrustful... i just keep making it worse when they are so rude about the contact... likely something about me being defensive,, i just don't know~
@GusteeMoon123
pardon my name-slip, helpfulSoul,, can't hold a name from one second to the next~
@GusteeMoon123
@KINDSOUL~ omg, i guess i need to use that Reply button~!
begging your pardon
@GusteeMoon123 Yes Gustee, using Reply button is more helpful. And I can feel your thoughts. It becomes difficult to communicate with the person you had a bad past experience on communication. I think in such a situation Soul's thoughts can be well applied. Be prepared with your talk. Probably an outline?
Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. You are awesome <3
Yes, it can be challenging to talk with people especially because people react differently. But you'll get there. :) If you feel like you failed, don't be sad. We learn by doing mistakes and it's okay.

Hi Obs and thanks for this post. I guess there might be people as well who do not ask that question because of fear that they will be rejected if they do say how much certain things hurt them.
fear of failing a thing is actually worse than actually failing, because we can learn from our failings, much better than from our fears~ <3
@ASilentObserver How often do you talk about your thoughts and feelings? How do you feel after talking?
I used to talk about how I think and feel a lot when I was younger but since my last visit to my Grandparents' house (both of them went Home to be with the Lord), I was shutting down and withdrawing myself from my family and friends.
Right now, I'm slowly and surely talking to certain people in my life about my thoughts and feelings.
@ASilentObserver right two brains are better than one. lol
I find when I talk to people I get new perspectives
This is terrific! Thanks for the invitation and permission to share my feelings, whenever I need it! It's great to know it's available "whenver"... rather than just in "emergencies"! How comforting.
I don't share my feelings enough out loud with others. I'd like to. I feel much better afterwards, more calm, heard, listened to, refreshed, renewed, unburdened...
Great post. I will start using the listeners more often. Hope they're mindfully there and 100% present. :)
My experience with saying lets talk is: Oh Lord what's wrong now, is what they say. Then they put up there guard and they become defensive.
So sometimes I just stop right there because I am already meeting opposition
