Mindfulness Daily Check-In August 4, 2017
Hello everyone
How are you all doing today? Today I thought I ask everyone this....
What Is Your Favorite Mindfulness Skill You Do? And How Does It Help You?
There is so much in Mindfulness Skills that we can't possibly name them all. But I'd like all you to share the 1 or many skills that work for you with everyone here.

@sensitiveShade5337
HIya over there Shade
Good to see you in check-in today. hmmm we all have mindfulness skills we do-BUT we do them unconsiously. There isn't 1 thing you do, to check in with yourself daily?
@RumpleSteeleSkin
Good to see you too!
Nope theres nothing i do, I told you I dont have any
@sensitiveShade5337
Shade that is ok
Can I ask...
1. Are you open to learning a few skills?
2. Do you understand what mindfulness is? How it can help you?
3. Does anything you see here in mindfulness forums appeal to you?
4. Is there anything I or the rest of the community do to help you on this?
@RumpleSteeleSkin
Ah thought you would ask one thing 😏
1) yes I'm open
2) I understand what it is yes but not how it can help me. Like ok to be on the present maybe make me relax but how else?!
3) some yes
4) I don't know..
@sensitiveShade5337
Shade if you are interested to know anything about mindfulness skills, please post and share with us all. We are friendly and love to help you

p.s. I stretched the "1"
Hi
My number 1 skill in mindfulness is also the most common one: observing what is happening inside and outside of me. Lately I am trying to "master" also non-judgement towards a thing or a person by trying to understand that how I see the thing or person is only based by my own experiences and not how the thing or person really is.
@CrissiArabela
Hi Crissi nice to see you here in check-in
Observing whats going on in the inside as well as the outside of you without judgment is a great skill to master
I too-love that skill. When we learn not to judge things,people or situations allows the intake of things to our brains be pure facts so that our bodies react appropriately. It is something to really continuously practice. You can do it- and thank you for sharing this

@RumpleSteeleSkin just a lot of deep breaths that allow me to calm down a bit and refocus. Nothing special but at work they are very useful and can be done anywhere.
@fighter23
Hi Fighter good to see you
Yes- the deep breathing is actually a good first skill to know and do. It can be done any time and any where. Good job and thank you for sharing

@RumpleSteeleSkin awe thank you!! I am sure I will pick up more but that's all I got right now. Not much time in my life so I take the simpler approach. 💕
Hi All. My go to skill is breathing. I have a couple techniques depending on how much support I need at the time, and I also count patterns as a way to ground myself.
@RumpleSteeleSkin forgiveness is my favorite mindfulskill
@kindSoul10
Hi there Kind good to see you here today
You named a really hard one for many-forgivness. To forgive someone comes easier then forgiving ourselves. But when you do this over and over you teach your brain to do this automatically. Thank you for sharing your skill

@kindSoul10 yes forgiveness is one of my favorite topics because it means releasing and letting go of what I am holding onto that keeps me in dark places.
@RumpleSteeleSkin - i've been trying Grounding a lot lately and i always like Noticing Things
@KrinkTheMellowUnicorn
Hiya Krinkie
Good to see you here. Im so glad to hear that you are practicing grounding.and you are noticing things more. Keep practicing and sharing how things are going
@RumpleSteeleSkin - I will!
Anchoring my breath is my go to skill. Getting better at body scans too -- they used to trigger me somewhat, but that's where non judgmental observation becomes critical.
@melliotm
Hiya Melli so glad to see you today
Thank you for sharing this. Im so happy that you are trying to get your breath grounded and learning other things once you have the grounding done and in place. You are doing a great job
Please continue sharing how things are going!!
