Mindfulness Daily Check-In Dec 30, 2017

Happy Holidays Mates ❤,
Holidays brings joy and fun and allow us to build some beautiful memories with our loved ones. But, with holidays, it becomes tough time to find some time for yourself. It happens. Isn't it?
Lot of work in home or outside, travelling, attending events, parties and vacations time. All these keep you engaged and seem like not getting time with yourself. Moreover the all kind of thoughts that whether your beloved ones felt loved or not, whether they were happy and had good time? after holidays, need to resume office work, college and all. All these thoughts lead to stress. Lot of stress.
So, if you are also in same group, then here I brought a small gift for you this holiday. Hope you find it good.
>>>> 60 Seconds Meditation <<<<
This is something I do when I feel stressed, angry or annoyed with minor variations. It going to take only a minute. Be with me and lets do this together.
>> Take a comfortable sit, straighten up your posture and place hands the way you find comfortable.
>> Now, lets close our eyes and take a light breath and sense it.
>> Then, call yourself in your mind and say, "Obs, I'm feeling amazing. I can do this. I love myself."
>> Repeat it slowly and steadily couple of more times.
>> Take a breathe and feel the oxygen you intake.
>> Stretch your hands up head. Somewhat like you do when you get up after sleep.
>> Now, slowly open your eyes and see if you feeling lovely.
If yes, then carry this energy with yourself and go on to enjoy your holidays with your loved ones or whatever you will do.
Its good that we able to show love to our loved ones in holidays, But as well, you also need to send some love to yourself. So try this one minute meditation and poof the stress and enjoy your holidays.
So, how helpful did you find the 6o seconds meditation? And, what phrase or positive thought you would like to remind yourself while doing this meditation?

Silent hi wonderful check-in
Thank You!! Another reminder of more mindful self caring to ourselves. Thank you for reminding me-as it is chaos in my home. Carpet cleaning, home organizing, getting rid of things, uugggg the list goes on and on plus my work and my responsibilities here. But some how I find the time for ME
Like tonight when I get home from work I am going to bed and veg on netflix. But most likely I'll put netflix on and clean my room. As things are all over due to the carpet being done
@RumpleSteeleSkin
You are so right, reading your post felt like someone read my mind and it made me
. Chaos at home, plus work, plus friends and family and never ending chaos of housework!. Still in this chaos of life we have to find that 'me time' to keep our sanity alive. Netflix veg sounds great to me!
Its almost 2018 and its a good time to create a list of things you strive for. Its another opportunity to start off on a new leaf and say, Im gonna improve myself. And take steps towards the person you want to be.
@Crystalskies15 I like your intentions. Just deciding to keep walking on a path of self improvement Even if the methods change, at least we have clarified our intention.
@ASilentObserver
Thanks for the check in. This one minute beak is great. I often try this when things get overwhelming try and focus on breathing only for a minute. Then I find that one minute is the longest 60 seconds forever. What I have said to myself is to try it with a minute timer and keep focus on the breathing for that minute.
I've been having a couple of good days lately. Since I stopped gaming since.. 2 weeks? my life has improved alot.
But when things are always good I guess less good comes again.
I'm here after a nice day.. even started my makeup collection... but things just went down the train..
I had 2 panick attacks and is still being hard to hold the next one from coming...
So much on my shoulders.... specially with my bf... I feel like he really doesn't want anyone to know we're dating.. even when I said I was going to send him a present.. he said he'll only say who is from if people ask, not by choise ..
Maybe I'm too emotional... but that painfull gut feeling.. is absolutly terrible and I'm holding back tears ...
I'm a big believer of you never settling for being unhappy but I'm genuine lost. I guess I love too much and my heart and brain pays for it, since I already had these 2 panick attacks and last night I woke up at 6:30 am feeling this way too..
Have the night in front of me.. wish me luck
I hope everyone here is ok and that you guys are having a better day
@Booklover95
This said I know I have to be mindfull and focous on positivity but I'm struggling.
Meditation isn't working much...
IS there any other mindfull methods I can try?
@Booklover95
Hi Booklover, I appreciate you for facing and sharing all this. I feel you in this 'verge of crying and panic'. I wish with all my heart that you hang on now and get better eventually.
I'm a beginner in mindfulness, and this is not what you might need to hear (in this case, please ignore this), but I have two thoughts:
First, I don't think mindfulness means you need to hold back crying, or choosing positivity would mean we can't cathartically express negative emotions. On the contrary, in my experience, therapeutic crying (maybe with a touching story/video), or expressing myself somehow (like painting a picture with all black, or 'dancing'/shaking/screaming with an angry music) helped me a lot.
In some situations (like when you are treated badly, or experience loss), the 'negative' emotions are the natural response, and they even might push you toward a better situation by changing the status quo. Mindfulness just can help not to be too lost in them for too long time.
Secondly, when the self-help technics prove to be insufficient, then it might be time to ask for others' help. Solving everything by ourselves is not a goal at all. And contacting others gives them the opportunity that they can feel themselves better about being able to help someone. E.g. the listeners here on 7cups or any helpline in your country, or booking an appointment with a therapist etc. No need to be shy, they've met many different problems already, and in the first cases you are anonymous anyway. It might be hard to start, especially if you had bad experiences when connecting others before, but it can be so worth it. You already started it with your writing here
Hugs (if you accept virtual hugs) and the very best wishes.
@EmOnTheGo
This is so sweet it made me tear up a little. Thank you for your words
It actually made me realise alot and see things through another perspective
I'll hold on to your words :) thank you
