Mindfulness Daily Check-In July 27 2018
Mindfully activating our sense of taste
Hey everyone, its Friday again. A week already gone.
How are you guys? Who is in for activating our taste sense by imagination?
We connect to the world around us through our senses, the main ones being hearing, smelling, tasting, touching or seeing.
Lets choose the taste today and cook a wonderful meal, you dont need to be able to cook, use your imagination, think about what you would like to eat and which ingredients you would use. Maybe you start frying the onions, the peppers, add carrots, cabbage…….its all up to you. It takes a moment to get everything ready, pot/pan/ingredients. ……
Its done. Your meal is ready now.
Can you taste the spices and herbs you put in?
How did they smell?
To what region of the world might they originally belong to?
What was the consistency of the meal, al dente, soft, more liquid, solid
What were the colours?
Anything you like to add?
I would love to hear what you think about this cooking exercise.

@soulsings
Those are wonderful ingredients, the strong smell of garlic mixed with onions filling the room, mouth watering just by the imagination of such a meal on the plate.
Our brains subconsciously react to the smell, sight and even thought of food with the increased secretion of saliva and sometimes "happy" feelings.
@amiablePeace77 I will leave some on the table at the bottom of this thread lol
@soulsings
Oh wow where's mine😔😆

I ate chick peas in soup with some pita bread, so I definitely tasted plenty of spices and herbs. It was so tasty!

It smelled so good. It smelled so savory and just...I can't explain, but it's my favorite food ever.
To what region of the world might they originally belong to?
Hm...I'm not sure. I would just consider that it would originally belong to Africa and/or Asia.
What was the consistency of the meal, al dente, soft, more liquid, solid?
The consistency of the meal is solid within liquid.
What were the colours?
It is primarily a reddish-brown color while the pita bread is from tannish and brown.
Anything you like to add?
I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
@SaimaK
Hey SaimaK,
thanks for sharing your chick pea soup. Sometimes flavours are hard to explain, particularly when they come in abundance, fill our mouth, let our taste buds almost explode and take us on a journey around the world. Googled chick peas, they were first cultivated 3000 BC in the Mediterranean area
. Have a nice weekend.
@amiablePeace77 Wow, that's so interesting to know! Thank you, Peace!!!
I hope you are having a wonderful weekend so far!!!

@amiablePeace77 I made Japanese food! Marinated chicken with ginger, garlic, soy sauce and cayenne pepper, coated in panko crumbs and chia seeds , and deep-fried in sunflower oil (chicken katsu). It was so crunchy, moist, and flavorful! Then I panko deep-fried sweet potato, zucchini, shiitake mushrooms and leeks. All went with either hot mustard or tonkatsu sauce. It is so nice to have an appetite and experience all the textures of my food and food groups and colors knowing I made it myself from scratch.
Now I have to clean it...Forest made a mess...looks like someone egged my counter :)
