Hello Everyone!

Welcome to the Thankful Thursday Check-In Edition of Mental Health Awareness Month. How's everyone doing?

So, How did 7Cups / Mindfulness Subcom help you to deal with your mental health? What's one thing you're truly thankful?

You know how difficult it is to approach someone and share about your mental illness. As the stigmas associated with it stop one to share openly and comfortably. Because many parts and regions of our society lack awareness about mental health.

Telling someone about medical illness seems easier over mental illness. Due to this many suffer in silence. But no more now, we have a community named 7Cups where you can share and talk about any mental illness comfortably, openly and awesome people would be hearing and supporting one compassionately and non-judgementally. You're not alone.

Because most of us coming from same path you coming. We know and understand how it feels suffering from a mental illness. We all are with you.

I think this is the best about 7cups, no matter where we coming from and what our struggles are, we all are up for each other to support and ensure to make one feel better. Really an impressive and incredible efforts of the community.

So, they were my thoughts. Please do share yours too on Thankful Thursday!! Let's express and share our gratitude for 7Cups/ Mindfulness SubCom.

Thank you!!💗

@ASilentObserver

Thanks for the great and thoughtful post.

7Cups is more open (for the most part, every community has its rotten apples and 7cups doesn't escape that) to the discussion of mental health, mental illness, emotions, fears, and so forth -- with openness that may empower and/or enable a conversation in the real world. A person is more likely to bridge the conversation about mental health and mental illness one they, themselves are comfortable enough with the topic and their own skin - so to speak. I"m glad is it here and accessible - I think it really is helpful.

Today's grateful thing for me is -- Domino's Gluten Free Pizza and the fact is can be delivered! :D I'm without a car-it apparently really likes hanging with the repair shop guys, it didn't want to start when I tried to pick it up, it looks like rain and its over 90 degrees and I didn't want to have to walk 4 blocks to the one place close to work I can eat today. So I splurged and got a gf pizzasmiley Nom Nom Nom

I hope you are having a wonderful day and week so far! laugh This is such a wonderful post and thank you for sharing your thoughts with us all! I am so thankful for 7 Cups of Tea, especially the Mindfulness Subcommunity, because I feel comfortable and understood. I do not feel that I am struggling alone, and I feel so much love and support from everyone here! I am so thankful for that as I barely have experienced that throughout my life, and I am forever grateful! heart

How the 7Cups community really helped me was with their kindness, support, but especially their understanding! My mental health has been shaky before, I used to be so afraid to talk in public. I would have anxiety over a class presentation for weeks, causing lack of sleep and appetite. I'd just freak my self out and eventually hyperventilate the moment my turn came around to get up in front of the class. And I didn't understand this fear. Why was I afraid. People would ask me: what is the worst that could happen?? I don't know, okay, I'm just scared and I don't understand why.

When I told people in the Mindfulness support group this, they didn't ask me: what is the worst that could happen?? They said: I'm so sorry you are going through this. We acknowledge your fear. And best of all: here is some things that work for me when I feel anxious. People didn't tell me I had nothing to be afraid of, they instead told me how I could overcome that fear, calm myself down, and use mindfulness to balance myself. I found yoga, I found meditation and I found how much fun it can be to practise all of this in a community.

I am thankful for the understanding, the non-prejudice, the 'we're here for you, we got you' of 7Cups.
