Hiya everyonesmiley Today I'd like to focus on Mindfulness Communication. Oh yes-yes as lately I personally have been going through this as well as seeing it on here and in daily things in life. So what really does "mindfulness communication mean? "Mindful listening is a way of listening without judgment, criticism or interruption, while being aware of internal thoughts and reactions that may get in the way of people communicating with you effectively."

oh wowsurprise So let's look real quickly on "HOW" we can communicate a bit more mindfully:

1. Listen- I have a the habit of interrupting people as they talked to me. As I grew up, I came to notice how people pull away during conversations when I didn't fully listen.Listening is the first step toward mindful communication. To mindfully listen means to wait patiently for the other person to finish before we speak.

2. Practise non-judgment- There are always two sides to the story, and neither one of them is necessarily right or wrong. People who are in conflict or disagreement tend to judge each other during communication. Even when we are on good terms with others, we unconsciously judge them because we dont see their side of the story. To mindfully converse and avoid conflicts, we need to try our best to refrain from judging the other persons opinion, story or perspective. We should come to terms with the fact that there is no wrong or right only different perceptions.

3. Show understanding- You see, at the end of the day we just want to be understood. Applying the non-judgment technique above allows us to see the bigger picture, and in doing so, helps us to understand their perspective.

4. Be totally there- One of the things that bothers me the most is when Im with communicating with someone whos not ‘there. Since I have realized how disrespectful it is, Ive tried my best to be present in my conversations. Not being present during communication can range from checking smartphones, watching TV or engaging in anything else during the actual discussion. To have a successful communication, we should put our activities aside and totally be with the person whos talking.

5. Dont harm- Harsh speech is one of the most important thing to know. I have noticed a lot on 7cups is how they insist on remaining kind and compassionate with other people during communication. It is not necessary to harm others when we are talking to them. Every harmful word that comes out of our mouths is a double-edged sword; it will hurt us as much as it will hurt others.

I do hope you all think on this today and apply it in how you listen. Listening mindfully is a skill. But it's well worth itsmileyheart

@RumpleSteeleSkin thanks for this wonderful post. I find the part of listening that helps me is the pause where I breathe and reconnect to myself. This allows me to not react with an autopilot response that usually gets me in trouble.

@soulsings

Hi Souls good to see you in check-in todaysmiley I like how you shared how you stop,breathe and reconnect to listen and not respond right away. I am going to start this tomorrow as I listen mindfully to my clients. As I already get an answer in my brain-blah. So now I have been learning to slow down some and really listen.

Absolutely awesome thoughts Rumple. Agree with you on that.

But you know, sometimes we encounter certain people who suppose to judge you even if you are not judging them. So, sometimes it feels doubtful over the thing that are we only people who are non-judgmental and listening?

Though, one benefit of non judgement is that you not actually carry unwanted burden of thoughts on your shoulders. So its good and all must try to embrace it.
