One strategy I use to stay calm during the day is.....
For me to stay calm I try to breathe deeply. It helps!! Try it
@littleKite5614
That a great idea. Maybe i should try that out myself
My quick (5 min) movements every hour away from my desk and the computer is not enough to tamp down the pressure inside my stomach and chest that builds by noon and through the afternoon. Instead, I have to plan 20 minutes totally away from my building, getting out in nature even if that is just a quick walk around the block or, when I have the luxury, a walk around the tree-lined oval. Trees are healing to me, and combined with the outside air and whatever other elements, is magical. I return freed from the building pressure and, double win, energized to finish the afternoon well.
@oakhenge
@oakhenge I love trees! They are healing.. and protective and life giving :) I like to imagine them filled with little green sparkly lights and every time I walk under neath one, that they let me borrow their green lights as I go about my day
Listen to music or just breath and clear my mind
At school: slow breathing, water-breaks, at home: listening to music and painting and drawing always helps
Snuggle my baby.
At school/ work I focus mainly on slow breathing and drinking heaps of water, just occupying my hands. Otherwise, I've found that painting, drawing, listening to music and baking to be super helpful in settling it all down. Sometimes when I'm feeling extra anxious and just don't want to do anything, I'll put on a feel good kinda movie and sort myself out with a cup of tea, always seems to work.
Listening to music, watching movies, meditation.
Breathing I deep breathe, which gets on my mother and brothers nerves but it helps me so I dont care if they think im weird lol no one else seems to mind!!!!
Oh also when Im at home playing apps helps distract me cause I don't think as much...
imagine something beautiful. any beautiful thing at all
