Setting Intentions

What does it mean to set an intention?

To me, an intention is a goal. It can be specific or broad. Everyday, you can set an intention for your day, for your year, for your life, for your community, for your family, for the world...etc. Say it softly to yourself and really think and believe in that intention. It can be a very empowering daily practice that I'd love for us to try as a community!

In this thread, lets set our intentions! Here are a few written by a community of intenders. You can follow them on twitter here!

I Intend that I am bringing people together whenever I can.

I Intend that I am catching myself before expressing my next negative emotion and that I am acting out of love instead.

I Intend that I am learning to observe my surroundings without judging.

I intend that I am at peace within myself.

I intend that I am putting putting my imagination to it's best use by holding a vision of my ideal outcome.

I intend that I am looking within to see what would give me the most joy, and then I am consciously creating it.

I intend that everything needing to be known is known here today; that all of my words are clear, precise, uplifting, helpful, and fun; that each and everyone of us here is guided, guarded, and protected throughout this entire experience; and that everything we say and do here today serves the highest and best good of the Universe, ourselves, and everyone everywhere. And so be it and so it is!

I intend that I am living in grace and gratitude.

I Intend that I am more willing to consider the needs of those around me.

What are your intentions?

The most important part of intentions for me is to not set myself up for failure by having expectations. Setting intentions is a practice. And it's important also to keep your language positive.

for instance, my intention might be:

Today I am willing to practice not beating myself up.

the language has a negative connotation with the "not". So to turn it around, I might say something like, Today I am willing to practice being kind and gentle to myself.

Great way to start. Negativity has it's place when encumbered in fear or anger. But once your safe. Positive thinking will be freeing and peaceful. Thanks your post helps.

winkLearn to break down my walls and allow total healing mind body and soul. Must do in steps.

Learn how and when to forgive. Free my spirit through growth.

Learn each of my issues and coping skills to increase my present and future. To become one within and lead by ME and not my problems.

Learn to help others and thereby developing and grounding myself. WinWin.

Learn to seek without fear, tell without judgement, be without retaliation.
