@RumpleSteeleSkin Often here when discussing mental health, the topic of stigma comes up. I don't think there is much of a stigma related to mental health.

The current health challenge is a good example of something for (mostly) physical health - eating so many fruits and veggies in a day, exercising a minimum amount and balance, these are things that not everyone with a physical illness can do. I would like to see similar things go on for mental health, ways to maintain or even improve overall mental health, not things to deal with a mental illness.

So skills on how to maintain/deal with mental health? Some that are also for physical health as well?

@RumpleSteeleSkin Great to see you too! :) I am glad to hear that today has been a pretty good day for you! <3 :D I think it would be nice if their was a daily post/check-in that focused on a different mental health condition for each day of this month. It would be quite informative, and may encourage others to share their experiences/stories. :)

@RumpleSteeleSkin

Oh... just a few from me... my 50 cent worth...

Feed the Soul Sundays -- How can we prepare ourselves for the week ahead? Overcome that dread of another day of school/work? What can we do to help ourselves through mindfulness and other tips.

Mindset Mondays --- let's kick the week off with some positive thoughtfulness and mindfulness. Maybe explore some of the specific practices in Mindfulness that can help get your feet back on the ground - so to speak.

Teachable Tuesdays -- How can we help those around us - family, friends, coworkers, etc - understand what Mental Illness is and how to best help us? Information that's shareable - break the stigma of mental health - open the door to conversation, etc.

Worry Less Wednesdays -- maybe some tips on cutting stress, inspiring quotes, and mindfulness video sessions in the chat room.

Thankful Thursdays -- Gratitude is such an amazing seed that we can sow within ourselves and our communities - and gratitude has such a healing power for someone who is stressed, depressed, lonely, overwhelmed, feeling unappreciated, anxious and more. Helping us with tips on how to see the little glimmers we should be grateful for when we're at our darkest.

Forgiving Fridays -- Let's talk about forgiveness - for others and for ourselves and how that impacts our mental health.

Social Saturdays -- Start a conversation in the real world, on social media, here at 7cups about Mental Health and the needs of this community. Talk about the taboo nature of the subject. Break the silence - break the taboo. Have some facts to share - there are lots of printables already prepared you find on the internet.

Okay... that's me... at the moment... off the cuff....

What is mental health and how does one possess it while others do not? Do we have methods of reliably restoring mental health in individuals for whom their mental health is in a state of disorder, and what are those methods supported by? Are they supported by science? Just a few studies or a large body of replicated scientific studies? From which journals? Or are the methods proposed for reclaiming mental health perhaps supported by something else other than science? And what is that something else? How do we know it's reliable?

I ask that whatever knowledge claims being presented also cite the sources in support of said claim - the source for how we can know what we claim to know - so that every reader can ascertain the reliability of the source and the probability of its truthfulness. If the evidence in support of a claim is neither testable nor detectable within the closest approximation to what we can know about reality, I would struggle to distinguish that untestable and undetectable evidence from something which does not exist. Therefore, I think it's important that, when making a claim to know something, we can provide evidence for how we know something is the case in a way that is demonstrable to others. And the best way to do that which I'm aware of, is to present evidence which is testable, detectable, and can be demonstrated within reality (or its closest approximation). Otherwise, we are left with the null hypothesis, that the knowledge claim hasn't met its burden of proof and we can say it is not the case until it is demonstrated.

Cite the sources for any knowledge claims, because if you can't show it, you don't know it.
