@RumpleSteeleSkin change is the most difficult thing for anyone to do. The most difficult thing is to try mindfulness. Then the body tells us how much it likes it and it is easier.

@soulsings

Souls thank you for sharing your thoughts on this. I do agree that "change" on anything with many people is a very hard step. But our bodies don't lie on what we like and don'tsmiley

@RumpleSteeleSkin If someone has not had an inner life before and they live a very fast-paced life, practicing mindfulness for the first time will cause anxiety. This is because they are slowing down for the first time, and that can be hard.

@Probius yes I agree. Some people find some of the guided meditations very difficult. Facing our own inner situation and assuming responsibility is most difficult when beginning.

Hi there Propius thank you for answering this question. I so do agree with you on for some slowing down their day is a big challenge for them. It was for me way back yonder. But do you think if prctice on mindfulness skills daily can help them slow down and feel comfortable?

@RumpleSteeleSkin I think that the key to learning how to do mindfulness if your life is moving very fast is to start very slowly. First, a person can practice mindfulness for just one minute at a time. If needed, maybe 30 seconds at a time. Maybe just a few deep breaths. Just start somewhere, and slowly improve.

I agree too with al the above, It is so tough to maintain our own sanity especialy when an entire lifetime has passed by and left you empty. Slow steps are the way forward and persistence too.

guess it is easier to focus on fulfilling our wishes and ignoring everything around us than practicing mindfulness in dealing with ourselves and our surroundings.

@amiablePeace77 Jon Kabat-Zinn says that mindfulness is hard work. We have to face our own self. Nothing is tougher than that. We have to reexamine our hopes, our dreams, our expectations. We have reinvent who we think we are. This is not an easy job.

I love the way Ralph Waldo Emerson puts it: "The lesson is long, but the time to learn it is Eternity."

@SkizMaTig I agree mindfulness is hard work. But as Ram Dass said, "It is the only dance there is."
