Solace through Mindfulness

Mindfulness helps you find solace and emotional balance through a quiet calm mind, non-judgmental awareness at the present moment.  Many people find solace through meditation, group therapy, and self-help techniques.

Meditation can be a powerful tool for processing our minds. Meditation encourages you to observe the thoughts you are having and the moment allowing them to arise and slowly leave our minds and bodies. Meditation serves our brain health.

Meditation can calm our thoughts and body language into a soft and calm manner. Solace can be self talking to ourselves. We talk to ourself to make you not judgemental of things happening in your life.

When you meditate you are calming your breathing, mind from racing out of place, and relaxing our body to calmness. Meditation can be used as a emotional relief, releasing tension in our bodies. Meditation can be a profound sense of inter  - connectedness in our body.

How can mindfulness and meditation help you relax?

Mindfulness helps me to train my mind to pay attention only to what's happening right now, without judging it. During the meditation I might focus on things like my breath or the sounds around me, and by this quiet the busy, racing thoughts that make me feel stressed.

@pamharley003

It can help me relax by allowing me the time to slow down.

To just be still and in the moment.

Reset.

Breathe.

And let my mind and body have some time off 🤗💛

For me, mindfulness helps release the mental tension that builds up throughout a busy day. When thoughts start racing or stress takes over, taking just five minutes to focus entirely on rhythmic breathing acts like an anchor. It creates a gentle pause between feeling overwhelmed and reacting, helping both my mind and body settle back into a calm, centered space. Thank you for this lovely reminder! 🌿🧘‍♂️

@ListenWithCare

I agree taking a few minutes to do a breathing exercise can calm down a person. I do it and it always works for me.

@pamharley003

I did a paper on mindfulness for my degree last year and we did experiments where we used various mindfulness techniques and investigated the effects they had on us over the course of the year.

Personally I found the three-good-things technique the most useful. By listing 3 good things that I had experienced each day, and how they came about, I found increases in optimism scores over the course of the year. My happiness and confidence also increased and I began searching for the good things in each day. I really noticed my focus shift from the negative to the positive over time. It was so rewarding (and has been backed by proper science too, not just my uni experiment!!!)
