Prequel to Summer Reading!
A lot of libraries do summer reading programs, where you win prizes for reading books! How cool is that??? <3
At least in my area, they all seem to start around June 1st.
So, let’s start revving up for the commencement of the summer reading programs!
(If you don’t have a summer reading program in your area, just make your own! Set a goal, and give yourself a reward when you hit that goal!) :)
Our goal until June 1st: Just start reading more. I don’t care if it’s 5 minutes per day. I don’t care if it’s a magazine or newspaper. (But please, no gossip magazines lol; try to make it something you learn from, if you can!)
Post what you’re reading, and how many pages, or how much time, etc. Tell us if you like what you’re reading, and if you’d recommend it! If it’s a newspaper, tell us a headline or story. Nothing formal or fancy… Let’s just talk about reading! :)

I’m almost done with The Source Code by Bill Gates and wow, what a journey! It’s been super interesting to read about his life and the founding of Microsoft. I’ve learned so much about his approach to innovation and leadership and there’s a lot to take in!

What’s beta-reading?
@jesusredeemedme2425 It happens before a book is published, depending on the author when, but they often ask someone to read the book and give feedback on it. So you basically read the work that is either finished or still in progress, and tell the author what you thought, how you interpreted the story, what did you like and dislike, what do you think of the characters, if you found any plot holes or problems that need to be addressed. It´s actually a lot of fun, there is even a beta-reading community on the famous forum site with the orange antenna robot logo that is volunteer based. That´s how I found the story I decided to read. Authors post a short summary on their work and you can let them know you want to beta-read it for them. Some people have a deadline and specific information in mind that they want you to do, others are like yeet any feedback my way whenever (i chose the second cathegory)
