I just earned the Teammate badge, which I think is a big step for me because I'm trying to manage this fear of online interaction I seem to have. I want to reach out to a listener but anxiety/fear/something keeps stopping me. Even posting this is tough, but I think it's a good first step.

I'm a socially anxious person as well and it took me a long while to be able to use the listener system here
to give you good measure, I've been a member since the start of this year and I've known about this site for 2 years, yet I never got the courage to request a chat with a listener really until a month ago. I never could do much of anything else either, like posting on the forums (which, as you can see, I'm trying to work on now, and it's gotten much easier )
I still have trouble with group chats and so I've kinda just been lurking in group chats attempting to muster up the courage to send a message every now and then. some days it works, others not so much
it takes time, that's for sure. but I will definitely say I'm making progress, and I'm pretty sure you will too if you keep working on it, maybe even faster than you're expecting :)
