I am excited to start connecting with people who really understand the struggles of losing weight,fears of gaining it back and totally being controlled by food,it's representations in my life and the anxiety of it's role in everyday living. It's so hard to feel part of life when my thoughts are constantly about how I look, what clothes I can fit into, what occasions are coming up and how I want to look vs. reality. Everything feels so out of reach for me. I've spent my entire life fighting this monster. Yo-yo dieting, anger about having to struggle, comparing myself to other women, hating excercise, being in shape and feeling great to allowing it to slip through my fingers only to go back to square one heavier than before. I know what I need to do, but at this age with menopause,body changes, hormone issues and wondering what happen to the beautiful woman I used to know, have all undermined my strength and resolve to get this burden off my shoulders once and for all and really start living.
