Weekly sharing of Goals! Week #33 (Monday 8/14/23 - Sunday 8/20/23)

I welcome anyone to commit to a goal here today.

But more importantly, talk about getting it done or why it didn't happen today.

To praise each other for our efforts and wins.

While supporting each other through trials and setbacks.

And to continue trying and not give up.

Remember:
Every Goal should be considered "Worthy".
Never belittle your achievements and be proud of yourself for your daily accomplishments!
Whether they be Complex or Simple.
Getting out of bed is a good day..... Good job I say!

Share your goals today, for support and encouragement.

I do have specific goals this week. They are not about tackling new things but more about updating and maintaining my personal and work obligations.

I believe if I can update and maintain my personal and work obligations I will feel much better and be more at peace with myself. This is harder done than said because of something called ADHD. I get bored easily with the mundane and get excited about new ideas and big projects. I guess one of my goals for this week is to try to stay focused for the rest of my goals.

Another huge goal is to manage my weight down to 282 lbs. Part of that goal will be to have an independent thread talking about that journey for this week and perhaps for the next month it's my ultimate goal for my target weight to be less than 280 (279) and hopefully as low as 275. I believe, subconsciously, last week's projects we're motivated by this daunting goal because I dread or fear committing to this but I know it must be done and I also know it will be all mind consuming so I think I was trying to get a lot of little things out of the way last week.

GOALS FOR THIS WEEK:
ITEM #1. Vacuum floors and redo dog beds
ITEM #2. Keep kitchen clean and Laundry done.
ITEM #3. Update all bus information.
ITEM #4. Control all overeating urges.
ITEM #5. Have two liquid diet days. (As much water, broths and vegetable juices as I want).
ITEM #6. Do all kitchenwork required for effective weight management.
ITEM #7. Reduce my weight to 282 pounds
or less and maintain that for seven consecutive days.

These are my goals for this week and they start now! WOOO-WHOOO 😬😅

2 Extras:
A. Repair shop generator.
B. Re-Straw dog houses and kennel.

TUESDAY: My Monday was extremely successful. My little bits are getting done successfully but my biggest boost was my amazing weight reduction. I've been working on my own weight reduction plan for a couple years and I've been in a slump for a month or longer BUT still maintaining responsible eating habits for the most part. Some people call a nutritious liquid diet "cleansing" and that's kind of what I did yesterday and it was hard. I've been maintaining a weight between 284 to 286 and it's been nudging its way up to 287 so I knew it was time to act to get to my next goal of 282.

I could not believe it this morning when my weight was at 280.4. It made sense though, my body was working hard and all I did was pee a lot all day yesterday. That wasn't just the liquids I was drinking, that was my body working on my mass but not having any new solid food to work on it worked on my body instead. (I know this weight is not a standard or constant but it's good to know that I'm in the ballpark of my goal).

TUESDAY goals:
A. Sweep bathroom, Hallway and Kitchen floors.
B. Vacuum living room.
B. Update Student list and Seating chart.
C. Review bus cameras for Vaping violaters

This weeks weight record. (Monday - 286.4) (Tuesday 280.4)

That sure feels good to make that accomplishment. Great job!

Lots of school stuff I see.

@KristenHR

Yeah it did feel very good, thanks!

The school stuff is basically volunteer work because they don't pay us to keep track of all that information. Lot of drivers don't even do it and I don't blame them.

I suspect you're staying pretty busy during the week so I hope it's going good and everything is jiving for you.😀.

I like this idea. It sorta makes you accountable when you put it all out there for the world to see. I'm thinking about participating if you do this in the future. I'm not sure if I have time to actually sit, write out my goal, and keep you all updated. I don't want to start to participate if I'm not going to be able to keep up with it. Something for me to ponder. This week I'm on vacation away from home so I have no real goals.

I will be here to support you as I can. Keep up the great work

Hi Cycling, Thanks for the Support and Encouragement. I'm glad that you liked the idea and grasp what I was trying to do with these threads, so that's very cool.

Every week I start a new thread. The Title and the Content is the same with the exception of which week of the year it is. This is week #33 of 2023. I use the weekly calendar that starts on Mondays and ends on Sundays. You'll notice that next week's thread will be week #34 with the corresponding dates.

I would love it if you wanted to throw a goal or two in for the week, that would be great. I fear my long list may alienate some members but I would really love to gather a group of goalsters that support and encourage each other for any goal they're trying to.

When a goal is small but the effort is huge is when we all need uplifting and support.😊 And ps, I see you giving a lot of support on the execise thread.... Thst's awesome!

I hope you don't mind I'm gonna tag a friend with this post. @KristenHR

Thanks for the information and the ps....I am a huge health, wellness, and fitness guy. Despite my own "things" in life, the least I can do is support others who are trying their best to better their health and fitness. I came to 7 cups for my own wellbeing but I'm hoping I can help someone else with my story or ideas so they don't end up in the situation I am in. I will definatetly be on the lookout for your goals threads....

And I don't mind at all thay you tag a friend....

My day was pretty great. It was the last official day of my road trip vacation. Now for the 14 hour drive home. 7 hours tomorrow, stop for the night and the last 7 will put me home on Thursday. Since most of my "issues" revolve around my place of employment, I'll probably start getting into my own head and going down hill by Friday. Back to work Sunday. Back to real life. That's when I'll be needing 7 cups the most, I'm sure.

It sounds like you're cycling help put your thoughts in order so that's great. I love bicycling, I haven't done it much in my adult life but I lived on a bicycle as a child and young adult. My father would let us go all day long on biking adventures and but just to make sure that we were back for dinner at 6:00 PM. Boy oh boy do I have some stories to tell.

I have a big bicycle route going past my house that bicyclist do throughout the year but the big event once a year is called the "Redbud Run"

I don't know if you read Kristen comments/reply to you below but WE are here for you and if you need to spill the beans about work we'll take it one day at a time. You'll make it through. 😊

Your welcome man. BTW, I'm glad to hear you had a great day the other day but sorry to hear your road trip is coming to an end.

I read your bio. Both my older sister and older brother retired from the correction system. My sister was a guard and my brother was the maintenance supervisor. I'm not sure how my sister went about the longevity of it but my brother was getting to hate it with a passion. He wanted to retire early also and get out before his full retirement but he hung in there and he was really happy he did. You can do it too. You worked hard to set yourself up and personally a few more years could be worth it, especially to retire with full benifits.... at your age... OMg-Pre celebration party! YOU CAN DO IT!

For not quitting earlier when all felt lost.
Maybe a fresh start one month at a time.

Thanks for sharing your bio. I've learned something about life and the fact is, people that raise children have a totally different outlook than people that never had any children. And with that said regardless of our backgrounds, successes or failures, or current station in life.... It's nice to be heard and have a hand in difficult times.

Have a safe trip back home. 😀

@IsayUncle

Your idea of a fresh start one month at a time is a great idea. In the past I have broken it down to one day, even one hour at a time. Then I have a bad moment and get wrapped up in it and the whole plan goes to down the drain. Looking at the big picture is where I need to keep my head, but when things are bad, really bad, it is so hard. I try to keep my head up. I have a few options I'm considering at work to help me through. In the mean time, I keep the clock ticking down....1288 days....if I subtract weekends, days off and vacation days, I'm somewhere between 7 and 8 hundred working days....lol....anyway, I didn't mean to hijack your goals thread with my "stuff". Sorry... I have a 7 hour drive ahead of me today. I'll share a few goals tomorrow morning for when I'm home.

a real quck note.... that's exactly what I'm hoping for. To share personal stories and how they are entwined with goals. That's the story... they can't be seperated.

More stories told, more understanding, acceptance and diligence grows .... I think 🙃.

Glad you put your thoughts in here. Even if you only were to share some thoughts once a week, that would still be sufficient. I definitely do not post my goals and respond with how I'm doing daily, but I do post as I have time. There is no quota here... just the opportunity to connect and gain some motivation and accountability from some of us who are wanting to make some changes and/or get some things done.

I hope you will join us, and support is always welcomed. I hope you will let us support you too when you have the time to share.
