Weekly sharing of Goals! Week #47 (Monday 11/20/23 - Sunday 11/26/23)
I welcome anyone to commit to a goal here today.
But more importantly, talk about getting it done or why it didn't happen today.
To praise each other for our efforts and wins.
While supporting each other through trials and setbacks.
And to continue trying and not give up.
Remember:
Every Goal should be considered "Worthy".
Never belittle your achievements and be proud of yourself for your daily accomplishments!
Whether they be Complex or Simple.
Getting out of bed is a good day..... Good job I say!
Share your goals today, for support and encouragement.

I've added a "soft" tag list to this thread because I start a new thread every week and it gets lost sometimes. Anyone that is interested in following and interacting might not be able to find it so I hope this helps. It's a soft tag list because it's not permanent. It will fluctuate with activity and requests. Agreeing or requesting to be on this tag list will keep you on. If I got you on here by accident, please let me know because it's supposed to be a helpful thing and not an intrusion.
Here's to a Fresh Start
You Can Do It! We Can Do It!
@IsayUncle
Hello, hello. How is everyone doing?
Last week was quite busy for me. I've decided to do make some health changes for the positive, so I've been pulling some paperwork from the last time I worked on it (I'm big into spreadsheets and charts), so I've pulled my recipes, tracking charts, and information that I need to get started. Now I just need to find a couple more things so I can get started on my new plan. I'm excited yet challenged.
On the writing end, it's a lot of the same. Curriculum writing, only added a new class on relationships.
For those in the US, any Turkey Day plans? Anything you are thankful for?
I'm thankful for friends.
@KristenHR
I'm doing fine today, thanks.
Hi Kristen, glad to hear you're staying busy if that's a good thing 🙃. I believe you and I are running parallel with our considerations towards health management and I'd love to get into more detail about some of that later on.
I know for some it might sound counterintuitive to be talking about health management prior to a bunch of big holidays but for me, it's not really that big of a deal. How about you?
Even though we can find all kinds of controversies for all kinds of holidays, I think Thanksgiving here in the US is one of our favorites. Historical controversy not being the topic but having a day dedicated to being reminded to give thanks I think it's a great holiday.
I'm sure other cultures and nations have celebrations of thankfulness. Please share if you know what some of these might be.
I'm thankful for where I live and I'm thankful for knowing I can do better. (just wish it was easier🤣)
HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!
@IsayUncle
get through this test/essay/assingment time
@Bazzust0
hEY bAZZ... Is Bazz ok, sounds cool to me!
Good luck on your test and essays. I was wondering if you had to finish these before the holidays, during the holidays or after the holidays. I'm not sure what holidays you celebrate but tis the season as they say.😊
For your sake I hope it's after the holidays so you can enjoy some of the holidays and still get your work done.
Do you think you're gonna do OK or have a hard time with it? We are here to help you if you need it and/or just want some encouragement. You can do it!
@IsayUncle
all in sxxhool its just to much
@Bazzust0
I got ya, It does sound very very hard! I'm sorry it is weighing so heavy on you.
When is your test due? When is your essay do? When is your assignment due? If you can, or want to, answer these questions so we can see what kind of timetable we are on. You can do this, I promise. Maybe not as perfectly as you want to but we can try to do the best we can, if we know what kind of timetable you are on.😉.
Do you wanna try to push on, or how do you feel?😕
Happy Friday folks. Happy Thanksgiving to those that celebrate. I hope you all have had a great week and have accomplished things on your lists and reached some of the goal you have set for yourself.
I haven't been on 7 cups in about a week. I have done really nothing in the way of accomplishing anything at all this past week, including working out and riding my bike. I've been dealing with a respiratory thing. It hit me like a ton of bricks last Saturday. Body aches, tiredness and head congestion that eventually settled in my chest, a few days later, turned into a dry cough that I couldn't shake for a couple days, and now terrible sinus pressure behind my eyes and in my face the last two days. I guess you could say I've got all the congestion things everywhere. My home covid tests were negative and I never ran a fever but had all aches and congestion of it all. I did nothing last week Saturday to Tuesday but lay in bed and on the couch, with all the OTC cold/flu meds, etc. I had no choice but to drag myself back to work on Tuesday and worked Tues, Wed, and Thursday. Struggled through my 8 hours and then slept or lounged on the couch afterward. It feels like I may be on up side of this thing but I'm still lounging with my feet up and not doing much of anything. The tiredness and congestion and pesky cough is still lingering, but not like it was in the beginning. I'm going to rest another few days and hopefully by Monday, I will be able to get back to some sort of normalcy to my life. I do have to say though, despite being sick and feeling like total poop, sleeping, laying around, and not doing anything has really been nice. Of course my laundry is piling up and other little household things that need to be done aren't getting done, so when I finally feel up to it, I can tell you, Its going to be stressful catching up. I'm also very much looking forward to getting back on the spin bike and helping my team with mileage.
Anyway, that is the story of what has been "me" the last week. I may or may not be around 7Cups the rest of the weekend. I have a lot of catching up to do in the forums either way. I hope you all have a great weekend and continue to crush your goals.
@CyclingThroughLife
Glad you checked in and let us know. Good to hear from you but I'm really sorry you're feeling so bad. I like your idea of not planning too much up through Monday. That sounds like a good idea.
You had a real strong run for the past few months, with your bicycling and your work, soccer dad, and your chores so maybe this was just nature's way of slowing you down a bit. Not fair but it happens sometimes. You'll get your groove back. 👍. You get the rest you need, as you need it with no worries and we hope to see you again soon, feeling strong, back to peddling and doing.😉
The subject of having a listener is in this week's thread has materialized and it really made me consider and ponder the idea.
I realized one of the good ideas of having a listener, is that you don't have to really share your Debbie downer thoughts or bummer thoughts on a thread that may discourage other people.
And of course, some things are just very serious and private. I get that 100%. I never thought about the complications and the benefits of finding a specific listener because I don't think I ever wanted to have one point of view about things. But now I understand if you had one point of view from somebody that you trusted and believed in, that would be worth a lot. (all one needs, really).
I just wanted to say, that I don't have a listener but the few of us that have been sharing together here I have come to trust and cherish your insights and encouragements. There's deep things that I don't really talk about and perhaps I should consider getting a listener but until then I will continue to share my hardships and successes freely here, because you do help a lot. A special thank you! 💗
Perhaps the more we get to know each other, the more we can share and help each other.
@CyclingThroughLife @KristenHR @cloudySummer and Others.
I haven't really been doing very good since I've lost my job and lost my dog. I may have one good day to every two or three bad days and today was a bad day. I'm able to spend a lot of time on the thread because I'm not doing other things.
Nothing seems to have an urgency or point to it and it's really hard to do anything. If I was up on my game I would have went and started my side job. I guess I can't call it my side job when it's my only job now.
I should have at least went and done some light maintenance on the equipment got it loaded up for driving to the job but I didn't even do that. I spent this morning filling out job applications and background check information etcetera. But then I had little things around the house that were wearing on me and I didn't do any of that and I didn't work on the equipment and I didn't do nothing.
I'm writing this here this evening for accountability. It is 3:00 PM and I am gonna try to be Superman until I go to bed so tomorrow I have nothing to hinder me or getting my side job lined up and started...... That sounds strong doesn't it? i wanna be surprised if in 15 minutes I wasn't laying down watching TV.😕.
Re-do and wash all beddings!
@IsayUncle
I'm sorry you lost your dog. I seem to have missed that post. Losing a pet is so difficult.
Sometimes self-compassion is needed for a bit, and then getting up and pushing through, then taking a short break and pushing through some more. Sometimes applying the 15-minute rule can be helpful. It can be done two ways. Get up and work on something for 15 minutes every hour until it's accomplished on the really hard days. On days that are manageable but not great, work for 45 minutes and take a 15-minute break. They are ways to motivate, accomplish things, but not be totally stuck in the pit that sometimes we feel like we get stuck in, and at the same time allow for the difficult place we are in.
You can do this. You are strong. I've seen you push through really hard times here. I know you can do it. It's okay to take this down time, but don't stay down too long that you can't get up. Give yourself permission to rest, and then get up and do what you need to do. Perhaps figure out what the balance is for you. You tend to go all gang busters. :)
@KristenHR
Thanks about the dog. I didn't really think I had lost her but as time goes on, it's starting to sink in and I really miss her a lot. She was a large dog so she had more of a people's personality if that makes any sense. 😢
As far as motivation goes, I've used every trick in the book and I keep losing. I haven't lost because I haven't quit but I tell you, my spirit is wounded and weak. I'll just go put my groceries away and that's just the way it's gonna be for a while.
Thanks for your comments and insights, it's always encouraging to hear from you. 😊 even if I do have a cloud around me at the moment.
Sorry to be such a Debbie downer, just keeping it real but I hope you're having a good weekend and evening.
@IsayUncle
i have been saying that I’m going to work out my Abs for awhile now. That is my goal for today, and consistency for the next 6 weeks. Love this thread!
@WayJay
Awesome & thanks! Commit.... Report... hehe.... You can do it! Let us know how you do, if time allows.

BUT I'M REALLY TIRED. 😕.... Not stopping, just resting for a bit.
