Weekly sharing of Lofty Goals! Week #29 (Monday 7/24/23 - Sunday 7/30/23)
I welcome anyone to commit to a goal here today.
But more importantly, talk about getting it done or why it didn't happen today.
To praise each other for our efforts and wins.
While supporting each other through trials and setbacks.
And to continue trying and not give up.
Remember:
Every Goal should be considered "Lofty".
Never belittle your achievements and be proud of yourself for your daily accomplishments, whether they be Complex or Simply getting out of bed..... Good job I say!
Share your goals today, for support and encouragement.

Hi Kristen,
Thanks for sharing. That’s pretty good you are aware of pacing yourself with the mix of light and heavy days. I have never had that discipline, and I call it a discipline because I think most people can be overwhelmed with what we think has to be done. I don’t think most people have the mindset to conscientiously be able to pace themselves and relax effectively. Not me anyway.😕. That's great you are aware of it and practice that!
Being self-employed my entire adult life but not being able to delegate, I’ve always felt I was behind and always on. The only regeneration I get is when I’m tired and just can’t do anything else and so I take days off. I do these on purpose to avoid deep depression so I guess I can say that I do regenerate on some level but I really don’t know how to relax.
I journal everyday too but as you can probably imagine, it’s much more of a To Do List then an expressive journal. But I pepper it with lots of insights, philosophies and inspirations or aspirations so it is a journalist of sorts.
I’m not really good with people. With all the self-reflection of many failures, it’s now very easy to see that my egotistical personality destroyed a lot of possibilities with a lot of people. Being self-employed, I’ve had several crews but my impatience and intolerance to stupidity (no empathy) made me a very bossy man with very little ability to delegate.
I’ve learned my lesson now, and am on a much more wonderful upswing. I have been blessed with a natural mechanical mindset and so I have a lot of knowledge about mechanics and building and because of my self-employment I have all the tools and equipment needed to build or create just about anything I need or want to.
I live in a poor rural county with one grocery store and one traffic light. I started driving the school bus and discovered an intense need for these students, most of them foster kids, to have access to hands-on activities and training of tools, techniques, and measurements. I started my own program for the students. I’m teaching them about tools and trade. It has turned into a passion that consumes a lot of my time.
That’s great that seven cups is offering you the ability to build your knowledge and get involved with an internship. I started the listeners program. I discovered on a personal level I needed to learn and practice of what a good listener is and is not. That list of do’s and don’ts was a real eye opener for me because I was doing them all wrong. 7 cups is a great program and that’s really awesome that you are taking such good advantage of it. It seems like it’s right up your alley for what your passions are…. To help people.😊
I did take a day off yesterday to do lots of much needed shopping. I like ethnic stores but they are about two hours away so I decided to take the day to myself and go get my Mexican, Middle Eastern, and Asian staples for the house. It still ended up to be a very long and tiring day but I’m glad to have my shelves stocked with something more interesting than baloney and peanut butter. 😂
@IsayUncle
You are very insightful about yourself and recognizing your strengths and your needs. To recognize to take time off is important, and while we do it differently, you are still doing it. Do you have any little things to unwind before bed? My journaling also has some to do lists from time to time, it's a mixture. I've even journaled what I would spend my lottery winnings on if I won the lottery on a couple times. But, they say you have to purchase a lottery ticket to actually win. 😜
Oh, I love that you created a program to teach the youth about tools and giving them great skills and a foundation for a future career. That is so awesome and I love that you have that desire and using your gifts and talents. It really shows your heart for youth. I can hear your passion for this in your post.

If you have a hard time getting up and moving around, Sitting exercise video's ARE a great Idea. I find any kind of exercise hard to do but i know how important they are. I hope you find some good exercises to get you moving around. YOU CAN DO IT. Little steps....but consistent. 😊
