I’ve been spending 2-3 hours up every night with one of my kids because they have problems sleeping through the night. I think it is starting to catch up to me. I’ve had a headache for a couple of days.

@skyraven02 Hey, I'm sorry to hear this, prolonged sleep deprivation can definitely take a toll on you. It's not your fault if it's having an impact on your life and how you deal with everything, you're doing your best!

How are you doing in terms of support? Is there a partner or family members you can share this burden with? It really helps to redistribute the care work, having someone by your side that can take care of the kid with you and also someone you can talk to makes a huge difference.
Don't hesitate to ask for help. It's what's best for you, for your kids, for everything and everyone you care about.
This also includes, of course, checking in with a professional to determine if and how it's possible to help your kid's sleeping pattern.
Wish you the best!

@skyraven02

Its tough dealing with consistently interrupted sleep, I feel for you mama. Headaches can sometimes be caused by dehydration. Try upping your water and see if that helps at all. If your chasing sleep you might be leaning on caffeine to get you through the day, which dehydrates you further as it is acts as a diuretic. So getting enough water really helps. I hope your little one starts sleeping through the night soon.

Me to he's 5.5 years old. I have one cup of coffee in the morning and that's pretty much my only caffeine for the day.

@skyraven02 I read your post and thought (well assumed) that we were talking younger child. Can you ask him why he's waking or what wakes him up? Is it at the same time each night, for example when the heating kicks on, or when next door comes home and slams the door? I am a great researcher, I love to find reason and understand so I would keep a sleep diary (and one for your headaches too) and see if there is a pattern or trigger. I know it can be the last thing that we feel like when tired but it can work wonders to figure out the cause and then fix it.

Good luck. I wish you good rest <3

He wakes up between midnight-5 am. He has never slept good and always had issues with waking up at night. He is usually awake for 1-3 hours then finally relaxes and goes back to sleep.
