Just Want Someone to Hear Me – My Sad Story
Hi everyone,
I don’t usually talk about myself like this, but today I just needed to let it out somewhere. I’ve been carrying this heavy feeling in my chest for so long, and even though I try to pretend everything’s okay, it’s really not.
There are days when I feel completely invisible. I could be in a room full of people and still feel alone. I try to smile, to be strong, to keep it together… but inside, I feel like I’m falling apart. I’ve lost people I cared about, and sometimes I think I’ve even lost myself in the process.
It feels like no matter how hard I try, I’m never enough. I’m either too quiet, too sensitive, too much of something—or not enough of everything. It’s exhausting pretending to be okay when all I want is someone to see me, to really hear me, and just say, “You’re not broken.”
Some nights I lie awake wondering if things will ever get better. If I’ll ever feel like I truly belong somewhere. I keep telling myself that I just need to hang on—but I don’t know how much longer I can do this without support.
I’m not looking for pity. I guess I just wanted to know… is there anyone else out there who’s ever felt this way? If you’ve been where I am now and made it through, I’d love to hear how. And if you’re still going through it, maybe we can help each other feel a little less alone.
Thanks for reading.

Honestly I feel exactly the same way rn. I constantly feel alone and I feel like everything is weighing me down.
Life Is hard but I promise your not alone. You are enough exactly the way you are. Even if you don't see it now you will always matter. Some days are just hard and surviving them is enough. If today feels hard breath, take it slow, and be gentle with yourself. One day things will get better. You are so much stronger than your situation. Strength comes from realizing that you need help and sometimes its hard to see that. I will always be here for you if you want to talk or if you need anything.
Once again you are not alone and you matter.
@IzzyGamer
Thank you so much for your kind words, they really mean a lot to me right now. I appreciate knowing that I'm not alone, and it helps to hear that I matter. Some days do feel incredibly heavy, but I’m holding on to the hope that things will get better. Your support truly makes a difference, and I’m so grateful to have you in my corner. Thank you for reminding me of my strength, even when I can't always see it. I really appreciate you being there for me.
And remember you are not alone too.
@Eman144 Hi. I don't know how, but... you pretty much perfectly captured some of what I am going through. I don't know why, or how, or what I did to end up here, but here I am. We are, I guess. Thank you for sharing. It feels good to know I'm not the only one, even if our struggles are still unique. So... thank you, I guess is what I'm trying to say. Thank you for expressing what I can never say. Thank you for putting out your hand. I'm here if you ever want to talk, and thank you for making me feel slightly less alone.
@DarkAsNight33
I’m really glad that my words resonated with you, even though I wish neither of us had to go through this. It means a lot to hear that I could help you feel less alone. We’re all just doing the best we can, and sometimes it helps to know someone else gets it, even if it’s in different ways. Thank you for your kind words, and for offering your support as well. It’s comforting to know that we’re not alone in this, and I’m always here if you want to talk too. Take care of yourself, and thank you again for reaching out.
And remember you are not alone.🙂

@Eman144
Hey, how are you doing? I feel the exact same way you're feeling right now and i just wanna say that you're a strong person for being able to handle everything on your own. Just remember that in life, there's always gonna be highs and lows and nothing is permanent and you won't be given any hardship that exceeds your capability. You're strong enough to handle this. I believe in you and i know you'll eventually overcome all your hardships. And i mean all of them.
Unfortunately i don't rlly know how to overcome feelings of inadequacy because i'm still struggling with it myself, but i've heard that venting on a paper helps, and so does venting to someone (like ure doing rn). Venting in 7cups is a actually a great and brave first step to feeling better. But just remember that recovery and healing aren't something that you'll get overnight because good things take time. And oh, i've also heard that writing down your positive qualities help too.
Always remember that you're enough even though you have weaknesses like any other human. And you don't have to prove to anybody that you're enough. As long as you're self-aware and work on improving them, i think that's enough. Lots of people are neither self-aware nor they want to improve themselves, but you do, and that's great.
@pinkKite8784
Oh and i forgot to mention this but i hope someday you'll be surrounded by amazing people who support you and love you unconditionally and just remember that i'm always here if you need any support, though i'm not always online.
Sending you support, strength and a cute ghost gif to cheer you up :) You got this!
@pinkKite8784
Thank you so much for this—it honestly means more than you know. Just reading your words felt like a hug. I really hope the same for you too—that you're surrounded by people who see your light, support you through everything, and love you exactly as you are.
And even if you're not always online, just knowing someone out there cares and took the time to say this... it helps. A lot.
Also, I’m definitely holding onto that cute ghost gif energy 👻💛 Sending you strength, calm, and all the good things right back. We’ve got this.
@pinkKite8784
Hey, thank you for sharing this—it honestly means a lot. Your words are really comforting, and it’s clear they come from someone who's felt these things deeply too. It’s reassuring to hear that someone else gets it, and that we’re not alone in the struggle.
You’re right—nothing is permanent. The lows feel endless sometimes, but the fact that we’re still here, still trying, says a lot. I appreciate you reminding me (and others) that we’re strong just for holding on.
And yeah, I’m still figuring out how to deal with those feelings of inadequacy too, so it helps to hear that writing and venting can be part of the process. I’ll definitely try that more. Just knowing someone believes in me, even a stranger, gives me a little more strength to keep going.
So thank you—truly. I believe in you too. We’ve got this, even if we have to take it one slow step at a time. 💛
@Eman144
I'm glad that i can help make you feel a bit better :] but can i ask you for advice and maybe some support too? Do you know how to be gentler with yourself? I've been struggling lately, mainly with burnout and lots and lots of procrastination and it's such a vicious cycle because i procrastinate because i'm overwhelmed with the amount of tasks that i need to do, and then when the deadline is near, i get even more overwhelmed. I honestly feel like my life is kinda falling apart lately, and without a support system in real life, it's been such a lonely journey for me and i dread going to school. I feel so alone in a room full of people and sometimes i feel like there's something wrong with me because i'm a human but i struggle with socializing. Maybe it's because i'm feeling down recently? But strangely when im feeling down, i feel lonely but at the same time i wanna be alone too (?)
I honestly don't know until when i can put up with this anymore. It's difficult for me to be happy. Like on some days i feel better and then the next day i'll suddenly feel worse, and it sucks a lot. It hurts being lonely when you see everyone else already has a best friend. But i'll try my best to not compare myself to my extroverted classmates and just accept both my strengths as well as my weaknesses
@Eman144
Honestly sometimes i feel like i have failed being a human. Like, things that are easy for others like "making friends" is quite difficult for me, but things like academics, which is difficult for others, is not too difficult for me. Why is it that i struggle with the "easy" things? Can you relate with my situation maybe?
@pinkKite8784
Honestly, I completely get what you're saying. You haven’t failed at being a human—far from it. What you’re feeling is something so many people go through, even if they don’t talk about it.
We all have different strengths and struggles. For some people, making friends and social stuff comes naturally, but they might struggle with focus, responsibility, or academics—things that come more easily to you. That doesn’t make you broken or behind. It just means your mind works differently. And that’s not a failure—that’s being human.
I’ve felt this too. Like, why is something “simple” like talking to people or making a connection so hard for me, but I can solve complex problems or understand difficult topics without much trouble? It can make you feel like you’re out of sync with the world. But really, you’re just on your own path—and there's nothing wrong with that.
You’re not alone. And there’s no one “right” way to be human. You're doing better than you think.
@Eman144
Thank you, what you said helps me a bit. And i'm glad i'm not alone, although i feel like people don't talk about this enough. Maybe it's because everyone looks so cheerful while hanging out w friends, it makes me feel so lonely and broken. Like as if im the only one whos going through hardships. I want to be okay again. I havent been okay in quite a long time honestly. Like i do feel.happiness when i do my hobbies but its only for a fleeting moment. Is it even possible for happiness to not be a fleeting moment when you're a young adult? Will i always feel like this until forever?
@pinkKite8784
Thank you for being this honest — it takes a lot of strength to open up like that, even here. What you’re feeling? It’s valid, and it’s something a lot of people feel — even if they don’t show it on the outside.
You’re right: people don’t talk about this enough. Most are carrying silent struggles while smiling in photos or laughing in groups. It can make you feel like you’re the only one drowning while everyone else is breathing just fine. But behind a lot of those cheerful faces, there’s pain too. You’re not broken — you’re human and you’re feeling deeply, which means you’re alive, not defective.
You asked something really important:
"Is it even possible for happiness to not be a fleeting moment when you're a young adult?"
Yes, it is. But here’s the honest truth — being a young adult is really hard, even if no one says it outright. There’s pressure, uncertainty, identity shifts, comparison, loneliness, expectations — and all of it can mess with your sense of peace. For many people, happiness during this time does come in small flashes. But over time — with healing, support, and sometimes help from therapy or safe spaces — those flashes can start to last longer. They can grow into something steadier. Not a perfect, constant joy — but a grounded kind of “okayness” that doesn’t disappear so fast.
You're not going to feel like this forever. It might take time, and it might not be linear, but it can get better. And the fact that you’re still here, still hoping, still making your mom smile, still doing your hobbies — that means there’s still life in you that wants healing. That’s worth everything.
If you ever feel like you’re slipping too far into the darkness, please reach out to someone — a counselor, a friend, even a hotline. You’re not alone, and you don’t have to carry this pain in silence.
And if you ever just need to talk, or unload, or cry into words — I’m right here.
@Eman144
Thank you so much for being here with me. I'm here for you too 💜
