@PoliteOcean

Hi there Ocean! I think turning to your pets and friends/partner can be great for relieving stress and staying grounded. I'm glad you're still hanging in. Sometimes that's all we can do when things aren't going so smoothly. Everything okay?

No doubt I would be ina mess without my dog, Suge. And I think this week is what resulted from some life altering hardships that started set/Oct which led to my mom, (as well as surviving greedy sister and her family who blocked me on her orders all longtime adults w their own families but mom is boss) . Bu to my mom, I've been a good daughter always helping all my life, but she turned against me, try to destroy me, call me a mooch when I asked for so little In my 53 years. I only needed help a year because I was extremely disabled and it was so suddenl but tried to still do it all alone. They disowned me they care less that 'im homeless as I'm dying. They don't care I valued ever day my parents were still alive. My mom took that away too. I will never understand why or how could my mom stop caring anything about me, and why did your hate come just days after my dad dies of gunshot wound to his chest?

@kindTurtle3738

Hey there Turtle. Thank you so much for sharing all of that. It's a lot to unpack. I definitely don't think it's your fault you were disabled, and I hope you don't either. We don't always get to choose what life throws at us, and I'm sorry your family hasn't been supportive of you. It's really unfair since you seem like you've always valued them and had their best interests in your heart. Just this one year out of 53 that you needed them, and they weren't there. I also see you mentioned that your dad recently died in such a way? I think sometimes people can take out their heartbreak and frustrations in the wrong way to people that don't deserve to be blamed. Sometimes it's because they feel guilty themself or they are in so much pain they want to relieve it in some way. It's not right, and you deserve better. I can't say I know exactly how you feel, but I have had similar situations with my family members and partners, and I know how tough it was. In your situation, I think I would also find it really tough and heartbreaking. I hope you are doing okay. Did this situation with your disability happen recently?
(P.S. Your dog sounds like a sweetheart)

TRIGGER WARNING My dog is the reason I'm still , I can't say going, but stagnant at best. Yeah they took my home, after losing 2 of mine to floods, I rescued my brothers home who had recently passed away. Was given the home by my parents. That's the first thing they started working on when my dad passed.No obituary. Had us evicted to sell my house, cause my sister wasn't happy with her home she had built in '17. Then while we are homeless, they sell or dump all I've ever owned. My gifts from my brothers who passed away,, my dad, uncle, friends and all my sons pics from growing up. Also I lost 3 pets (guinea pigs I loved and one cat) all furniture, appliances. It's all a long story but still homeless,, I think this was more than misplaced grief, but we all process differently:(..... I had some disability that happened over time, 2 autoimmune disorders, but I was brutally attacked in 2020 and it triggered an attempt that I put me on life support both times though they all say it's a miracle I "survived" the second time. But those are what quickened me being unable to do nearly as much as before.;injuries from assault and my own mistakes. Thank you for replying. I hope this wasn't TMI.......

@kindTurtle3738

No, don't be sorry. It's so unfortunate all this happened to you. Floods and all. You mentioned you're still homeless? I can't imagine how rough this must all be. Being homeless is stressful in itself and with all this loss it must be pretty unbearable. Then, You are also disabled. Having an autoimmune disorder during this time must be really tricky, in terms of the pandemic and all. Just so much hurt in your story, and I really do feel for you. How have things been going in your situation? Do you have any plans in place?

I don't even want to think about how it's only still getting worse physically so it makes the part of moving on really a struggle. But never know.

Greetings :)

I am new to this forum and hope I can share in this space, i feel gravitated to this topic of PD because I find that I deeply connect with the entries and community within.

I hope everyone’s week has been easygoing. Our present times of illness and economic struggle leads my mind to fly into spirals. I feel so powerless and uncertain, it’s completely derailing my sense of self. I don’t know if i know life anymore? Regardless, I am here, on 7cups, and I appreciate writing spaces like these!

Something positive: My cat, Saph (or Saphsaph), has been the anchor to my heart for the last three years so far. I look at her and realize how much another living being can have so much love and trust in me.

This week: I have been quarantining because I tested positive for Coronavirus after watching my goddaughter whose dad had gotten it from work. I’m scared if Saph will become ill because of me, as I am her person and she doesn’t like any others in the house, I can’t imagine being the cause to her illness. Additionally, my internal demons and lack of self-advocacy has me feeling like I’m dealing with a depression bug than simply (but importantly) quarantining with Covid. Although my symptoms are mild, I am triple vaxxed and am not immunocompromised, I’ve been battling my internalizations for life. And here I am, in bed, face to face with the burning desire to disappear. I hate having to feel like cutting off from the world whenever I feel so powerless. This week has been hard and i hate to put on a performance for everyone in this house but screaming just helps to feel my emotions. Along with self-harm. I just feel so alone despite my mom’s efforts in providing me meals. I shall be less critical on myself. “Being in bed is an option” and “I can sit at my desk! Oh, but you can’t focus on work? Get a hobby blah blah blah”. Or when I shut down in my relationship “babe you’re just having an episode right now, this is temporary”. Oh what a life, how critical our brains can be. My pessimism has come out a lot this week.

I didn’t mean for this to become a rant, but thank you for allowing me to share… <3

My mantra is “I am trying my best. I take it one day at a time. I am here. I am present. I am ok”

Hey there Beach! Welcome to the community, really happy to have you 😀 It's really nice of you to wish a great week to everyone, and I hope the same for you. It sounds like you're feeling a little lost with everything going on in the world right now, which is totally understandable. As you said, one day at a time right? Really great you're still hanging in there and keeping your mind open to the future. You can do this!

@LavenderFlower hey (=

🎋What is something positive you turn to for comfort?: it depends, but usually either music/my favourite band, my pets, or writing. writing is a big help for laying down my feelings to understand them better, my pets make me smile, and music helps keep me focused =p

🎋How are you feeling this week?: pretty awful, but i'm managing. i think. that's why i made this account. i needed support to manage the bad times, because they're a lot more frequent now

@f1nd3rzk33p3rz

Hey there Josh! It looks like you have quite a few things that you turn to for comfort. Pets seem to be a common one. I mean how can you not be comforted by such loving little creatures? Music and writing are my solaces as well, really helps soothe the mind and get everything out, dissect, and keep focused. It sounds a little rocky at the moment, so I'm glad you sought out help here. I really hope you found things to help you, resources as well as people. Really great to have you as part of the community. We're here for you. I wish you all the best in your management and healing ^^

I have had a lot of realizations over the last couple of months that have caused a lot of concern for me - that family will want to distance themselves from my chaotic brain - and so I continued to keep myself to myself. A couple of nights ago, I had a very open conversation with my wife and told her some things that I have never talked about with her. I don’t know why I didn’t expect it but she told me it was ok. She spent the rest of the night telling me that I don’t have to worry about losing her and how much she loves me. It shouldn’t be a surprise but I can take comfort in the knowledge that she will stick with me as I work through this. Even if the world around me crumbles - more likely that the world inside me will crumble - I have a constant. In that, I find solace.

@MnkDdy

Hey Mnk. It's great that your wife is so supportive. It's always a wonderful thing to have a partner that wants to understand, help, and support you through the storm. It's unfortunate that your family won't try to understand, but at the very least your wife will. I hope you feel a little more secure now with someone so close to you being in-the-know that you can be yourself around 😊
