@quietmagic

this week has been a roller coaster. I allowed my Borderline to give me an excuse to be angry at someone who didn’t really deserve it, but I made amends and am going to be even more aware next time I am in an upset mood that I need to not let it affect others. Progress has been made and I plan on continuing that progress.

I have been successful by going to the gym regularly and I am working on my YouTube videos at a strong pace. Thank you for the chance for me to check in.

@SparklyPinkHearts

Aw, sorry that things have been chaotic. Glad that you were able to mend things with the person where you had conflict. And that sounds helpful being able to recognize, "I was feeling angry but I acted on that in a way that I'm not happy with and I want to try to avoid having that happen in the future."

Yay for succeeding at going to the gym, working on your YouTube videos, and also the progress on avoiding hurting people. 💜 And sure, thanks for sharing!

@purpleTree4652

Hello! Sorry that things have been erratic, and those sound like helpful goals to maintain your current jobs and try to gradually work on different things that will make your life feel better.

I like what you said of "one little step at a time" in that it has this realism/practicality of, "I'm possibly not going to transform everything overnight".

@PoliteOcean

Hi Ocean--sorry you haven't been feeling your best. Glad that you've been taking that time to recover when you need it and that you're slowly/gently easing your way back into things.

How has your week been?
Up and down. Empty and full. I lost many close friends, almost all of them. I have those two lovely people I hold onto, though, and they sympathize with me through my episodes. I truly love them, but I see that I can be so harmful to them. I wish I wasn't. Furthermore, I've relapsed in self harm and my eating habits are more destructive than ever. I feel as though my disorder is progressing faster than I can learn to manage all the new symptoms.

What are your goals for next week?
I'm aiming for high scores on my exams next week. I need to get down the choreography for my duet. I need to look good while I perform. I'm so passionate about performing. I also need to be more aware of how I harm people in the moment and not in retrospect.

Hi, I see that you just joined 7 Cups today. Welcome to the site! Just in case if you haven't seen it yet, going to pass along a link to the Listener Welcome Pack, which is also located in the description for the Newbie Hub community.

Can understand that mixture of feelings from what you've described. You have two close friends who have been supportive and patient and you're grateful for them. But you've also lost other close friends, you wish you weren't hurting your current friends sometimes during episodes, and you're having trouble dealing with self-harm and managing eating habits.

I hope your duet goes well, and that's great that performing is so enjoyable. 😊

Just as an FYI, we have a series of weekly posts in the forums called DBTuesday where we're covering different skills and ideas from DBT. Possibly some of the recent posts on distress tolerance might be relevant if you're looking for ways of managing symptoms.

If you'd ever like to chat about anything, feel free to create a member account and then message me or use the booking form in my listener profile.
