reading more books (i'm currently rereading welcome to st. *** for the third time), getting through my exams (so far i did maybe 3-5 and i have maybe 1 more left), and remembering to catch up on homework (i have 120 math questions to do in practice of the final exam and as of right now, i did 18 and theres supposed to be 40 more but i can't access them so i will be notifying my algebra teacher on that.)
💗 What's something in your life that feels beautiful or gratifying?
knowing i spent so much time warming up to my algebra teacher (i'm comfortable with her to the point where it feels like i can talk to her about literally anything and i feel comfortable talking to her alone :) and thats really big for me because i never got the chance to warm up to any of my teachers all my life, i'm gonna miss her when i graduate 8th grade, shes gonna retire after the 7th graders graduate possibly)
@Nate715
Hello! I hadn't heard of that book, but it looks pretty interesting. 💜 Sounds like school is really busy (or at least 120 questions sounds like a lot... while also juggling a bunch of exams). It's difficult enough to complete all of the work without there being tech/access issues, lol.
That's really special that you get to have a teacher like that where things feel comfortable--and that you have the opportunity to be there at the same time as her in that window of time before she also "graduates".
@QuietMagic
hello magic! Hope you are well 🙂
interested in? Any form of distraction. My minds been unwontedly been to interested in a really stressful situation. So me not my mind is interested in distractions. The more distracting the better.
something gratifying, beautiful? Well seeing my youngest growing to a very funny and loving young person who’s says the most physiological things when you least expect it.
also seeing my appearance becoming so competent and knowledgeable. It’s a true gratifying feeling when you see someone not just listen to what you say but actually use it to their full potential. Consequently becoming who they are. I’ve a complete opposite case at the moment slightly different situation, so it highlights more than ever the effort and willingness that put in by some and not others.
this started as a good distraction, then now answering has sent it back to what I’m trying to distract from.
Have a nice weekend
@LabeledBPD
Thanks, I had a good weekend. Distractions sound nice. 😊 Any in particular that have felt compelling recently?
That does sound like it would be be pretty meaningful to see someone evolve or grow in positive ways--and to feel some responsibility for how they've transformed (for those who are able to experience that).
If you ever need/want to talk about the thing you're trying to distract from, feel free to PM me. 💜

healthy relationships and setting healthy boundaries. we let go of a friendship that we had since we moved here. the person could not respected boundaries we set. also could not allow us personal space. this been a big change for us as we always let others walk all over us. but as we learn more healthy ways and add them to our life. we found our mental health has improved a lot too. no it not easy to set boundaries with others. we doing this even with family members we still talk too. no they not use to us setting healthy boundaries, but they learning we not allow others to cross our boundaries any more too.
we even at times hang up on mom or dad. we give 3 warning then hang up if they not respected our boundaries. this very new for us, but it helping us improve our mental and emotional health a lot.
What's something in your life that feels beautiful or gratifying?
this a hard one for us as we see many things as beautiful. like the smile on the face of someone new you just met. children playing outside. nature and all that in it. our cat playing, friendships that are healthy and many other things. it spring here and the trees getting leaves and flowers starting to come up too. after a long and white winter it very beautiful to see the new life and the birds coming back too. one of our favorite things is the beautiful water here in Michigan. the colors within the water is amazing. think er like lake Michigan the best as lots of shades of blue and green within the water.
@stormieandpaws
Hi there. 💜 The thing of setting boundaries your parents sounds interesting. (And pretty reasonable with there being the warnings first and giving them an opportunity to change what they're doing.) How new is that?
"this a hard one for us as we see many things as beautiful" - I like that, sort of like it's not a case of "this specific thing is beautiful and everything else isn't". There's lots of beauty to go around. 😊 Lake Michigan sounds pretty mesmerizing though with all of the different color shades.
@QuietMagic
setting boundaries with our parents in very new we started it after we moved here 8 years ago. growing up we was not allowed any personal space. so never know about boundaries until like 20 years ago. but we was scared to set them with family members. we lost that fear when we moved 8 yrs ago. so due to not being around them and feeling safe. we learned it was ok and not disreputable to set them. as mom was still saying we had to obey her due to she always be our mom. using bible as her sayintg that but we showed her it state children. that being a child not adult. she did not like it but had to accepted we was not going to obey her if we did not agree with her. she would do things then tell us not to let dad know. dad would do the same. so we was always in the middle. now we not allow that any more too.
our life changed a lot when we moved here as they not know what we even do daily and can not come into our personal space. that very new having personal space. we before felt like they owned us.
for us even the wings on a dragonfly even the s beautifully of that touches us. alao like the colors in the sky as they change a lot too. waterfalls with the different colors as the sun hit the water. the strips on a zebras as each is a different pattern. we think many people miss a lot of the small things that very beautiful. we are drawn to details many miss.
@stormieandpaws
"but we showed her it state children. that being a child not adult" - that's a pretty great point, lol.
Yeah, it really changes things if your living situation is such that you're not as dependent on your parents so you don't *have* to obey them just in order to survive.
It's definitely possible to miss lots of beautiful things all over the place if someone isn't disposed to stopping and noticing them. 😊
@QuietMagic
yes agree when we no longer fully depend on another to just survive it changes things a lot. we found that by letting go of them that were to have looked after us and was to keep us safe but did not. that in that it self we find freedom.
we also found that sometimes they not even know the harm they doing at all. this because to them it their normal. they can not give what they do not have either. we found that true about our parents. also even true about our self too.
