New Program! Building Community

Hi Sub-community Leaders! I hope you have been well. Some of you may have noticed the announcement of our building community program. It is a program that will have a practical component that requires sub-community participation. The trainees will choose two sub-communities to focus on and they will make at least 24 posts weekly, most of the posts will be within the two chosen sub-communities.

I wanted to give you a heads up. This is an opportunity for you to give the trainees a chance to support your sub-community through tasks that need extra support. This helps the trainees to gain valuable experience and it allows you to get extra assistance where needed. While you are very much encouraged to assist the trainees in their journey (they need to make quality posts, sub-communities can always use an extra hand, it is a win-win for both) you are not obligated to do so. It is okay if you do not want to assign them a task. However please take the time to be a welcoming presence and guide these eager learners so they can benefit your sub-community and gain more skills.

I am confident this new program will bring more support and activity to our sub-communities. Some of these trainees will likely end up becoming leaders in the sub-community that interests them.

I also encourage you to consider taking the course as it does provide you with additional knowledge of building a strong community and you will get certification for the work you do. Thank you for all of your hard work. I look forward to seeing the impact of this new program.

@Hope

This sounds like an amazing opportunity and I'm looking forward to it. Is there a spreadsheet for matching trainees with leaders? Or, are trainees encouraged to reach out to leaders?

@PeaceLoveandPaws

I would like to set up a system in which the leaders can be aware of the trainees who chose their sub-communities. The sub-communities will be chosen after the two-week trial which for this very first batch would be around 25 Jan. I am not sure yet that it will be a dash but we will work on a system that achieves the same goal and all leaders will have more info on that before 25 Jan. Thank you for your interest.

Wow Hope...ok let me share this again. WOW HOPEyesThis sounds great for each of our subcommunities a whole lot. Also it can free the leaders up some so we can go stronger on recruitment or other things. Thank you so much for taking time to form this to better our teams

Hi Hope! I was just wondering what it is that we could say to them - should we just say that we noticed they had chosen our sub-community and that we are here for them?

Also, I was wondering if we should message all of them that come into the subcommunity? Some of the participants could otherwise get multiple messages from leaders in that subcommunity so is there any way of avoiding this?

I think it's a great idea to have leaders welcome them into the programme - it will definitely give them a sense of encouragement and welcoming - I look forward to helping!

Thank you for your support! I have made the sheet editable and added a tab to put your username to avoid multiple welcomes.

@Hope Heyy, I have welcomed my trainee for LLJ but what happens about the second sub-community? Do you think that we need a second contact column that the leader of the second chosen sub-community can put their name in?
