Sub-community Workshop! You can now sign up to lead!
Hi everyone! I hope you are well. A few days ago I hosted a sub-community workshop and people really enjoyed the concept so I am opening the opportunity to host to anyone who has a leadership role within sub-communities (you are listed on the leaderboard of a sub-community).
You don’t need to sign up for any role. You can host as many or as less depending upon your availability. I will be announcing the weekly sub com workshops each week on Monday. There will be a signup sheet for each week.
Please check community calendar to make sure that there are no other discussions scheduled (Sharing circles and Healthy habits are an exception since its 24/7 but please don't clash with a discussion)

For now, these workshops will happen in Hope’s Office, since it is open to everyone and not badge locked. You can ask a community mod to open the room when needed. The workshop lasts for an hour.
These workshops are a way for us to get the average user familiar with our sub-communities. It is also a great opportunity for you to gain an insight into what people like about sub-communities and what they find difficult. I encourage everyone to try and lead them when possible.
You will get 300 cheers for hosting a workshop (the cheers will add up depending upon how many hosted and will be awarded at the end of the month.

@pamharley003 Pam you are aan awesome discussion leader, you just need to trust yourself more! Maybe get someone to co-host with you so that you have someone to share the work with you? I used to love leading discussions and having a co-host can really help!

Hi Pam! I can understand that leading discussions can be a bit scary at first however it is a rewarding experience. I am hosting a workshop this Wednesday from 11 AM ET - 12 PM ET. If you can make that time, I would be happy to have you as a co-host.

Problem - There can be a lot of confusion between the forums and subcommunities and it seems like these terms are being used interchangeably at times although they are actually different things. This workshop script adds to the confusion, as the only things mentioned in this script seems to be about the forums.
Solution - Make things clear about the differences.
Recommendation 1 - Include all aspects of the subcommunities in the workshop. Forum, Q&A, group chat, the extras on the sobcommunity main page such as resources, guidelines, leaderboard, joining, etc.
Recommendation 2 - Give us back the forums as before for sections that also belong to subcommunities. Ie. Forum sections without subcommunities have 5 subsections on the first page and I can see the profile picture of the person who responded most recently. For the forums within subcommunities I can only see 4 on the first page, and I don't see any indication of who most recently responded. It's a big confusing when in the forums and then hitting a subcommunity page, if the forums sections only were brought back from a navigation standpoint these things wouldn't seem interchangeable.
