Forum team is asking for your help and inviting you to join in for an event!
Well support many people and at the same time you can earn a special badge and some cheers too!

This is called Answerathon
What is it?
An Answerathon, is an answering marathon!
It takes a lot of courage to start seeking support and type it out and open up to the community in forums, and if that post goes unseen or doesnt get a reply then the person will feel unheard and might feel discouraged from seeking support so by this we want to make sure everyone is heard and every post gets a reply, This will be a one week long event in which everyone is asked to reply to as many needs reply posts as they can!
When do we start?
The Answerathon will start from this Friday (September 11) and end next Thursday (September 17)
Who can join?
Everyone! (Listeners, members, teens and adults)
How do I join in?
All you need to do is fill out this short form to let us know you are interested!

Everyone who participates in this event will get the accountibility badge. The minimum number of posts to be replied for participation is 2 posts per/day which makes a total of 14 posts during the Answerathon.
For every post you reply to after the first 14, youll receive 10 cheers!
The one contributor with most replied posts, will get 500 extra cheers too ^^
Reply to any post from the needs reply queue or choose the posts on titles you feel passionate about from the titles or by going to sub communities and choosing needs reply from the sort by drop down

@Listeningsarinn Hey, I'm wondering if we can include posts that need replies and not just threads? There are quite a few members who post to threads and never get a response. Right now, quite a few of the posts in the Needs Reply area aren't really things that need responses (although it does help just to clear them out) - it's informational things posted by listeners.

i see affy, as you said it is also helpful to clear the informational posts out too, but we could get to does threads too as i see answerathon is working with the needs reply, i'll be updating the info on those threads tomorrow please feel free to send me links to the threads with needs reply posts so i could include them too!
@Listeningsarinn It's harder to find them, as they can be scattered around. Sometimes it's a member who made a tread but then also ended up writting more in their own thread.
Here are some that are good to check in on, but if individuals can seek out those who seem to need some support in general I think that can help.

hey there! Yeah the registration is closed as the answerathon is already started and it wouldn't be fair for anyone joining in after it starts as this is sort of a competition! But if you'de like to join just check this thread and add your username to the dashboard!
So, looks like the recent posts have received responses. Are we supposed to go ahead and post to the listener and informational threads, just to clean out the various queues? Or should we skip over them, as seems to be happening based on several refreshes of the Needs Response list for this event! :)

hey! Yes seems like answerathon is really helping with clearing the needs reply!
replying to those informational posts would also be helpful by just clearing the queue out but you can still skip them and go to older posts seeking support
plus i'll be sharing a few threads which have needs reply posts on them so we can clear those too!

Awesome! This has actually been a helfpul experience for me personally - both reading some of the other posts as well as thinking through how to respond to them. Appears as if this should be like a monthly thing, though. I feel bad for some of those people who tried to get replies more than a month ago!

i get that, and that's why i chose a needs reply focus on forum team :) if you care about this area you can work the way trough becoming a forums supporter with needs reply focus (needs reply team member)
we'll definietly have events like answerathon again in future if more help from the whole community is needed at any point!💜

hey tye! i'm really sorry for all the trouble you had with logging the links in the dash during the anwerathon, but right now it is pretty normal that you can't edit the dashboard as the time for replying to posts for answerathon is up and therefore i changed the setting on the dashboard so no one can add more links!
but for the links you've already sent to river as i'm on the teen side you did the best by sending a pm to river, they'll provide me with links and i'll include them *-*

@Listeningsarinn So sorry but i looked at the dashboard and mine is not filled in only shows checked ? Did something happen that i need to fix ? I never got a message back about the links i did reply too and was not able to add the two days before the end, there were only 3 so no biggie but i am not sure about the dashboad and mine being blank in some areas ? hey there! no worries tye i left the number of replies section untauched to ask river if they've added the links you've sent them or not and ask for the links if they haven't added it to dashboard, before counting the toatl number and awarding the cheers ^^

I am laughing out loud at myself because I had forgotten this event would earn us the Accountability badge! I earned it, but then was like, Hmmmm.... wonder what I did to deserve that one? Thanks for this post. I have been regularly going out to the Forums home page and clicking the Needs Reply tab to reply to posts. This would be a great monthly listener event, in my opinion - badge or no badge!
