Kindness Crusaders Project Team Meeting (First-ever!)
Hii, as you can see, I am a bit overenthusiastic and desperate to do more things for this kindness project..
What to do? Don't want this to cool down. So I've come up with an amazing idea that'd bring us (our project) so much more engagement and 100s of nominations (yes, you heard it right, I said hundreds, or maybe thousandsss 😄) Here is what I've in mind (hope no one outside our team will read our planning😅)
The Big Kindness Strategy: Start with the most influential leaders in our community! Who among the higher-ups doesn't already have the Kindness Crusader badge? Spotted someone? Good! Let's now aim to bring them nominations. Reach out to a few mentors/mods/barons of big-hearts who likely admire them and let them know we are going to make a special post for this amazing leader of our community and they may send in their nomination!
What would this do?
1) It'd bring us more nominations
2) It'd get many nominators started on the nominations path! And they may want to do more after they send their first one!
3) Of course, we make the nominee feel special and valued!
How is my plan? What are your thoughts? Would love to hear from you, team!
If anyone wants to team up with me in executing this strategy, please pm me. In any case, I will update in this thread how it went and to what extent it worked!
Do you have any more ideas/thoughts for our project? Share them too!
Go weee! Let the kindness-rain pour on us heavily to unable even raincoats and umbrellas from keeping one dry!

Hi, Fristo! I love your enthusiasm!
I encourage people to develop their lives "off cups" but if they're going to be "on cups" anyway, then better put that energy to good use!
Kindly,

@Fristo
have you considered organizing AMAs in the Positivty Room maybe? or perhaps activity/games/lighthearted sessions that can double as promotion for KS? that way people come in who might have no idea this exists and come out with the nomination form and word of mouth.
@Heather225 I would love to do AMAs in the Positivity Room! I already mention the KC Project there a lot in between the icebreaker sessions (the excitement in me about it speaks)! I will continue using the Positivity Room to promote KC!
@Fristo
Hi, Fristo!
Prompted by your post, I took some time to think about the future of this wonderful Project, how to make it robust and impactful over the years to come. Also how to raise its visibility and impact in the Community right now.
Here are some ideas:
Award in batches: like in the Academy, where there is a monthly thread announcing the new graduates. If you graduate (get enough nominations in our case) 2 weeks before the announcement thread, you will wait 2 weeks to be badged, announced and get your certificate. Many teams have similar procedures for their recognitions. The batches could be announced in a continuous thread or a new thread per batch.
Periodic awards: aim at a regular, sustainable period, like a month or a week depending on the frequency of awards. Keep a "buffer" of awardees (people with enough nominations) waiting in a pipeline to ensure a regular flow of awards (say 3 to 5 per month instead of 20 one month and 2 another)
Periodic outreach efforts: accordingly, if, let's suppose awards are given in monthly batches, once a month two weeks before the award post, project agents would reach out to Mentors, etc. to ask for their monthly nominations
Community-wide notifications: I fear that few people in the Community are aware of who is awarded the Kindness Crusader, and, in my view, this severely hinders the goals of the Project. For maximum impact in various dimensions (recognition, role modeling, promotion of kindness, promotion of activity, etc) send a community-wide notification including the names of awardees and pointing to the batch award post or thread. This would be easiest and maybe keep more interest the less frequent the batches (say monthly better than weekly). The notification text might be something like "Kindness Crusader awarded to Fristo, Jenna and Lou. Congratulate them here!".
Announcements in communities/spaces: promote awareness about each award within the spaces where each awardee is most active and well-known, through dedicated posts there. This should be done by the Mentors serving in that space. For example, for Ni in the Depression Support Community: https://www.7cups.com/forum/depression/General_2427/NiLoveMyMoonflowersawardedKindnessCrusaderrecognition_319175/ This was made "Featured Thread" for some days and pinned at the top.
I will continue thinking about ideas for this amazing and very successful project!
@HealingTalk These are very thoughtful and valuable ideas! Would you like to lead these ideas, delegate us tasks, and we will take small steps forward in implementing them under your guidance?
@Fristo
Hi, Fristo!
I was pleasantly surprised and honored by how much you trust me to offer to coordinate this Project you created and it's so important to you.
I honestly would love to do it, as it's so much aligned with my values, its Team is composed by so effective and nice people, and it`s rewarding and even fun.
The "dream job" here in Cups.
But unfortunately, right now I lack enough extra time (to say the least) beyond my current commitments within and outside Cups.
I shared these thoughts in the context of this Forum Team Meeting, answering your prompt to propose any ideas we might have.
I didn't intend to take any leadership role, just share my views as an enthusiast and advocate of this Project.
I am very sorry for not being able to take your offer, and I hope you don't take it as a rejection of such a wonderful and generous proposal.
@HealingTalk That's totally good. And you know something, you are actually indirectly leading us. I see every supporter of the project as a leader, they lead by spreading word of mouth for the project, showing their support and generously kind words(: Any little drop matters in making an ocean(: I will keep these suggestions with me and will see how much and when I (rather "we") can make use of them!
@Fristo
Thank you Fristo, for understanding and being so kind with such lovely words!
