Mental Health Month: Pets & Mental Health

Week Two of our Mental Health Awareness Month celebration is all about family. For many of us, our pets are like family members too! They provide us with affection and companionship when we need it and are always willing to listen when we have a bad day.
Many of you have already met my cats, Subaru and Leonardo DiCatrio.
Share a pic of your pet and tell us how they have positively impacted your mental health and wellness.

I don't have any pets :( I really want to get a corgi though someday
@Kate
I can't add a picture at the moment. But my cat is an emotional support animal ESA who helps with my migraines and insomnia :) (and loneliness)

This Precious kitten, always knows what needs to be done. Wakes you up with purrs and cuddles when doesn't feel like the greatest day. If she thinks you are feeling lonely, she will meow and bring you one of her toys, so as know she is looking out for you.
Likes dressing up in human clothes like jeans also, silly kitty at times :P They do make us laugh!
Being a cat parent is very rewarding, and has been said a cats purr can help those with anxiety and those who find socialising more challenging.
@Kate, Leo looks so cute as a Uni-cat
Can't wait to see others pets
@Kate I love your cats, but prefer mine ;)

@TortueDesBois

@Laura Coco!! I keep thinking "Glen Coco. Four for you, Glen Coco! You go, Glen Coco!" -hopes you get the reference-
@Laura awwwww its cocoa sooooooo cute think got the name right
@Laura
The bestest type of coco!!!!

This is Louie. I swear I got a cat, but am convinced I have a dog. He comes when called, sits when told, begs for food, always wants to be center of attention, and is even the size of a small dog. He knows when I need a friend and loves to snuggle.
@Kate
@Teagan
I love Louie already!!!!!!! Thanks for sharing about your awesome cato
heres my dog Mitzi who sadly was put down jan 12th as she was getting worse health wise but although she was not registered as an emotional support she was that for me cuddled me when i was down she assosiated me gaming or netflix as cuddle time so would nudge my hand making me stroke her to calm me she wanted to be the sole support when she nudged my hand he used to get under it and lift it up so it ends up on her she was very clever in knowing when she was needed and if it had ever gotten to a crisis point shed bark until i rethink and avoid the crisis shes deeply missed

@CaringBrit

This is my dog her name is Ivy! She's literally like my best friend, she listens to all my problems (even if she may not understand what I am saying or talk back to me) and is always there to make me feel better when I am down! It's amazing what animals can do for our mental health!
@Eccho
