The objective of this thread is to provide an opportunity for team members to learn from each other.

Synchronize Our Perspective

Attach your heart only to the mission or purpose. That is how you keep your power and peace.

The mission and or purpose are to spread words about our community to those who need emotional support.

We know life can be rough, and the healing process is not easy. We hope those who need it find support here.

Goal: Combat mental health stigma by reaching out, supporting those who need us, and bringing them to our safe haven.

How Do We Measure?

📈 An increase in website traffic.

📈 An Increase in impressions, engagement, and followers of @7cups Twitter Account.

📈 The first step is to increase your account visibility and impressions. In turn, this will increase the two indicators above.

ouicherie-twitter-1

As you continue tweeting, the numbers will grow.

REACH & IMPRESSIONS

If a tweet receives more likes, retweets, or comments, it increases its reach and impression.

Retweet:

Twitter retweeting is excellent, but it will have a significant impact if we already have many followers.

Quote Retweet:

You can add value, uniqueness, and impressions for both the original tweet and your own by including more hashtags and your own words in retweets.

ANALYTICS

You can activate your analytics to receive your 28-day report. It will allow you to identify what does and does not work.

If you have not yet found a way to activate it, please try here.

@ouiCherie I'm impressed by this comprehensive plan for raising 7 Cups' visibility on Twitter. However, I think members of Team Lightship should also be aware that Twitter has rules that might get in the way: Platform manipulation and spam policy

Here's a summary:

Platform manipulation can take many forms and our rules are intended to address a wide range of prohibited behavior, including:

  • commercially-motivated spam, that typically aims to drive traffic or attention from a conversation on Twitter to accounts, websites, products, services, or initiatives;
  • inauthentic engagements, that attempt to make accounts or content appear more popular or active than they are;
  • coordinated activity, that attempts to artificially influence conversations through the use of multiple accounts, fake accounts, automation and/or scripting; and
  • coordinated harmful activity that encourages or promotes behavior which violates the Twitter Rules.

What seems to us like "bringing them to our safe haven" might seem to Twitter admins like "aims to drive traffic or attention from a conversation on Twitter to accounts, websites, products, services, or initiatives". And note that 7 Cups of Tea Co. is a for-profit company, so Twitter admins are likely to see this as commercially motivated.

Twitter wants its platform to be used for authentic conversations between individuals, not for coordinated messaging by multiple accounts.

Of course, we've been doing this kind of thing for a long time and we haven't been caught yet! Grinning with sweat If Twitter admins do ever enforce their rules against us, though, and word gets out, then I imagine it could damage 7 Cups' reputation.

@RarelyCharlie

Hi Charlie,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I'll learn more and forward this for discussion.

However, we are not trying to manipulate anyone hehe... 😁 we are trying to let people who need it aware, that there is this community.

1. It's not something new that websites/ companies/ organizations/ communities or even a solo YouTube content creator promote their works on Twitter.

2. The nature of the 2 platforms, Twitter and 7 Cups are different. People use it for different purpose. Just because people find emotional support here, doesn't mean they stop using Twitter.

Just because people click.... CNN link and read the news there, doesn't mean they won't come to Twitter anymore.

What do you think?

Cheers! 💜

@ouiCherie 1. I agree. It is not something new that many websites etc. have Twitter accounts that they use for promotion. But do they coordinate multiple accounts to promote themselves? Can you give an example?

2. I agree with this too. No one is trying to make people stop using Twitter! The rules refer to behavior that "aims to drive traffic or attention from a conversation on Twitter". It would be OK if 7 Cups members on Twitter could chat to listeners on Twitter, but we don't allow that. Instead, we aim to drive traffic to 7 Cups.

CNN I am not very familiar with CNN, so I don't know. I guess CNN has one Twitter account, or maybe one for each department. The rules allow that. But does CNN coordinate a team of volunteers who use their own accounts to promote CNN? Can you provide a link so I can read about this team?

Hello Team Lightship 😊

How have you been these days? I do hope you are doing well.
Are there any troubles you found so far in doing the team's task?

As this thread is for team communication, I hope you will also share any tips you found.

If you haven't worked in the Content Marketing field before, I hope your time in Team Lightship will give you a taste of how interesting it is.

What to tweet?

1. From Content Development and Marketing (CDM) Program.

On The CDM Program, we learn further about Team Lightship and exercise tweeting empathy.

If you haven't got a chance to join the program, please check out the lesson here. It will give you a further understanding of what to tweet.

If you are interested in joining the program, please check out more info here.

2. Twitter is a microblogging platform, so blog about anything that fits and is relevant to Team Lightship's purpose.

You found a great quote, forum post, article, Growth Path, Q&A, or made one? Tweet.

Do you have a group discussion session coming up? Tweet.

Do you have insight about something related to mental health issues? Tweet. Some people will likely agree with you or find it relatable.

Even better if you can focus on a particular topic/s. It will be a more focused target audience.

Microblog about things you found along your journey. Having fun expressing your thoughts while helping others find the community is liberating.

What you tweet about should reflect the compassionate, supportive, and kind community that 7 Cups is.

Visibility

Impression, Engagement, Followers.

To convert a tweet to impressions need effort.

To convert impressions to engagements is tough.

Converting impressions and engagements to followers is tougher.

To convert impressions, engagements, and followers to link clicks is the toughest.

And the least we should care about is followers because the first is to spread awareness. And impressions already do part of the task.

What can you do to increase your visibility:

💦Utilize hashtags on your own unique posts & quote-retweets.

💦Comment on those who need emotional support to introduce 7Cups. Kindly note that if you promote 7 Cups directly on your first comment, this is a "hard sell." which some will appreciate, while others may not.

You can test the water first by being compassionate in their struggles. Be empathetic just like the person you already are, and if they respond well, you can introduce 7 Cups.

💦Consider micro-influencers within the niche. Comment on their posts, like, retweet their valuable posts with an additional quote as support. Be kind, be a supportive friend you wish you have there. You are tweeting for 7 Cups, and 7 Cups is kind, compassionate, and supportive.

Commenting on influencers' posts in your niche will increase your visibility to your target audience.

💦Last but not least, please continue tweeting. 💜 Your every bit of help is greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone,

Oh No Cat GIF by Garfield

How have you been?

I was down with a common cold last weekend, but thankfully back healthy and happy now.

Let's dive into this week's topic.

Twitter Tips for Team Lightship

Number of Characters

We only have a maximum of 280 characters for each tweet, including space, hashtags, and links.

Some social media experts believe it is best to keep your tweet short between 71 to 100 characters.

Personally, I think that theory fits for those accounts with large numbers of followers. As for us who are not influencers, aiming for impressions, and will only use the account for as long as we are on the team, that theory may need some adjustment. What do you think?

Visual

All primates, including humans, are visual creatures. Therefore, adding an image to your tweet usually gets more impressions and has a bigger chance to drive engagements.

We learn further about graphic creation for mental health advocacy on CDM Discussion 3 - Social Media Graphics: Promoting Site Content.

If you haven't got a chance to join the program, kindly check here.

Useful

Even better than visuals, are tweets that are useful or give value to readers. A thread tweet, which is usually a series of words, is currently favorable. I'm sure you're familiar with this type of tweet.

It can be a series of quotes, a series of tips, or a summary of a book.

Ideas for making thread tweets that uniquely 7 Cups:

Forum posts. I noticed many of you are great at writing posts.

I found these recent posts are great and potential for a threaded tweet:

The Need to End Loneliness Leaves Us Vulnerable by @KACOSMIC can be a thread of reasons.

6 Healthy Study Habits by our teammate @caringHope1976 can be a thread of tips

Article. No further explanation is needed, I suppose?

Q&A section here. Pick a question, rephrase if needed, make a thread from answers. Those published answers have been reviewed by experts.

Growth Path here. Expert paths are summarized from expert's books.

You can leave a couple of tips and link them to the source at the end with call-to-action (CTA). For example: find full tips here.

Would you share more great posts you found below? Thanks in advance and have a great week ahead!

Hello Team Lightship 🤗

How have you been?

How do you find tweeting as a Lightshiper so far?

Today I'd like to share and discuss with you how to do outreach. This is essential because we want people to have a chance to hear about 7 Cups and maybe it can help them as it has been helping us in various ways.

How I usually do it:

I mainly search for longtail keywords:

"need to talk to someone"

"I wanna be an article writer" (Well, I need to introduce CDM, lucky me, I'm in the team xD)

or if you find any content (Forum post, article, growth path, etc) that you found helpful for you, then search for related keywords and help people who can relate to the feeling find the help needed in the community. For example, an article/ post or self-help guide about social anxiety.

Search: nervous around people, awkward around people, anxiety when I'm around people, etc.

What could possibly people tweet when they are having that issue?

What about you? What longtail keywords do you usually search for when you do outreach?

Next, I usually tag @7Cups so they can check the community account. Far more reliable than my account.

What do you think? Would it help?

I'm aware it's a wilder world out there, but kindly note that you're not alone. We are a team. Feel free to reach out to @DreamTouch or me. We're here to support you. Cheers! 💜

I'll admit I'm still working a tad slowly due to nerves. I do make sure to share helpful tweets, retweeting or my own, whenever I think of them and have time to browse.

This definitely will help me with the reaching out part, not sure about anyone else but I feel for that side it can be a tad nerve-wracking.

However, I'm really enjoying it. It's fun and a great way to spread awareness, so thanks for having me. ❤️ And thank you for the suggestions Cherie

@robynlouise

Thank you as well Robyn 💜 I noticed you're doing it great!

Yep. It can be a nerve-wracking part. I totally can relate.

In all honesty, that's also the reason I tag the @7cups account on my outreach tweets. To build trust. The person most def will check.

I'm glad you're enjoying it. That's the point, right? A combination of volunteering to support an idea we agreed on and enjoy doing.
