Reinventing Your Life by Jeffrey E. Young and Janet S. Klosko.
It is a self-help book explaining early maladaptive schemas according to schema therapy. It also has exercises and case examples. It helped me a lot personally, soon I'm thinking of reading it again, this time with taking notes and doing reflections.
@Holmes33 For anyone struggling with trans/gender identity issues, I think when the moon was ours is an beautiful book that can help validate your feelings. It helped me a lot because of shared experiences and the way that they talk about it in the story feels impowering and beautiful. :)
Overcoming Depression by Paul Gilbert
Blackbird by Jennifer Lauck is a good one.
I could name a ton of books here and have a bookcase overflowing with them, but I will recommend "The Hours" by Michael Cunningham for my first time joining. Cunningham truly can dictate human emotions and this novel takes you to the barest yet extremely complex emotions and thoughts of three women. Virginia Woolf one of them. If you're a music lover the soundtrack to the movie by composer Phillip Glass is amazing.
